  1. That’s great, thanks for the quick confirmation. Yeah I guess the more you roll out the better sure coverage would be, but early days for us so won’t need hundreds covering just yet Thanks, Steve
  2. Evening All, Anyone using Securly as their filter recently do you know what their current licensing setup is - Is it per device numbers or full student numbers etc? We are looking at getting some Chromebooks going forwards and would be interested in testing them with Securly as their only filter, but obviously won’t want to pay for two filters to cover the whole school Many thanks, Steve
  3. So maybe I'm misunderstanding then, you're not the Bromcom Damon that: * Has a Bromcom email address * Has dozens of pages/blogs on Bromcom websites * Has been their "Marketing Manager" * Has been their "Product Owner for UI/UX" * Has worked on Bromcom stalls at Bett/London Acadmies etc * "Insert More but I hope you get the point" ? Guess you have a very similar imposter around then! sigh Steve
  4. Well you are a representative of Bromcom who's PR drone made this stupid thread in the first place... Maybe if Bromcom staff spent as much time fixing the issues that people are raising rather than doing these kind of posts there wouldn't be so much grief when they do post something that's helpful towards the community? It really does say a lot when more time is being spent trying to tell people why not to pick competitors than promoting why Bromcom is the company you should be selecting Steve
  5. Unlisted Video Channel Made 3rd October Right... Come on lol Think you're misunderstanding where the "touched a nerve" actually lays on and it isn't Arbor Steve
  6. Did you update to the latest setup.exe? Haven't tried 2024 yet but had issues in the past where they seem to do patches within the actual setup.exe so using an old version with new files don't always worK Steve
  7. Guessing it might show the same on register as that's via the ManageAttendance part, but Red seems to be the same?? Steve
  8. You don't need the \\ on the path %homeshare%%homepath% should give you the full UNC path itself You can test it using cmd prompt (not powershell) and just type %homeshare%%homepath% in and it'll return the path its using in a weird erorr way e.g. C:\Windows\system32>%homeshare%%homepath% '\\MyFileServ\Home\Students\Demo\' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Steve
  9. 3rd times a charm? Not sure if my last post deleted itself as can't find it when I went to edit it But basically: Wouldn't suggest that route - not redirecting folders just means more sits locally on machine (eg 2 users save same pic = 2x storage locally) Either redirect all to unique folders per user, or redirect them still but to same folder for all users (obviously not recommended) Regarding the desktop dir, this does not need to be in the home folders and can be totally different share that just holds short cuts - this can then be read only to stop the writing to it) Make sure you aren't using exclusive access set in the redirect as you'll need to make all users have access to the shared folders that you're redirecting Can you post your current settings as easier to check what you have set as it won't match any of my GPOs Steve
  10. Sounds very much InTune-skinned like with it being iOS/Windows. Things like the optional security being AutoPatch etc Going to assume a very basic teacher-controllable interface over the top of InTune settings Steve
  11. I assume it's a typo "or flash sale" kind of thing that automatically set back to RRP based on https://examwritepad.com/future-plans-and-pricing-update/ Steve
  12. That's rather poor of you again Bromcom. You're now purposely leaving out part of the story to make it sound better for Bromcom... You really should know by now that no-one enjoys these kind of games from the amount of flak you've already had on Edugeek because of those kind of posts Steve
  13. It's normally via RS-232 (the one that looks like an old serial port in terms of cables) that you'd connect things like projectors/screens via to remotely control them "Function to feed the remote controller-received signal to Pin 9 (open) on the RS232C" is what one of the pages say so I'd assume that's the case here too But it does mention using WOL as an option (hen "Quick Start Mode" is set to "Off" and "Wake on Wi-Fi/LAN" is set to "Enable", you can use "Wake on LAN (Magic Packet)" to turn on the power via LAN.) Which would just be like a standard PC WOL tool for waking an IT suite if you find the Mac address of the network port Steve
  14. 10 points to Fazza! Seems to be an old MegaRaid software. Thanks! Steve
  15. Sadfully doesn't recognise the serial, but appreciate the link Steve
  16. Good Evening All, Recently moved to a new school that's using some old Stone servers as HOSTs. Without rebooting into the bios etc does anyone know if there's any downloads you can use to manage it from within the booted OS? Things like checking RAID config/Disk health etc Many thanks, Steve
  17. #1 is a pre-made example e.g. https://s3.amazonaws.com/cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/50010692685/original/LV87MhKvtYpyvMK3S2WN9aNg8M4l4-Vo6w.gif?1705990850 #2 you can if you select all during the reply, it's all white text hidden normally, and then adds to the reply chain Steve
  18. As it's showing as a Baseline I'd expect it to be under here - https://intune.microsoft.com/#view/Microsoft_Intune_Workflows/SecurityManagementMenu/~/securityBaselines Steve
  19. Do you mean that in the sense of for site-to-site? or clients connecting via the AOVPN back to azure? You'd normally go with the VPN Gateways for Azure if it's for s2s etc Steve
  20. I'd have said probably InTune or SCCM from the wording as there's Baselines in InTune too. But one of the two If it's InTune it'd be under Endpoint security and then Security Baselines SCCM wise you'd probably have imported a SCM into the baselines page under Config/Assets Steve
  21. Wrong week? Still fighting for another week first! Steve
  22. How are they named? We have things like 23/24 at start of each team name when we create them so the script just searches for any team starting with that displayname to archive Otherwise you can use the CSV and just filter it down by the fields/columns as normally SDS classes have extra fields that manual teams wouldn’t have e.g. Get-Team | Where-Object {$_.DisplayName -like "23-24*" -and $_.Archived -eq $false} | Set-TeamArchivedState -Archived:$True Steve
  23. Tried using the SDS cleanup earlier in the summer holidays and after 4 days gave up as it kept looping like you mentioned Ended up doing a powershell archive of all the teams instead and worked first time, so guessing they broke something on the SDS page Steve
  24. Last time I saw prices it was $2 per month per machine (packs of 50 upgrade), so after 100 for free, you'd be on $1200 a year for 150 etc, $2400 a year for 200 etc, but not sure if it's changed now they're getting more customers (or whether they have Edu discounts) Steve
  25. All the drama coming out today it seems VP of corporate development, Gur Talpaz calling out Action1 today for "outrageous claims" https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7232114274838396928/ Steve
