  1. For that number of cables I’d expect you’d get decent pricing on CPC via a custom request for discount Steve
  2. Attached below Steve StartingNextYearsCurriculum.pdf
  3. I'm assuming from your "J" comments you're referring to the old Capita method of creating a double timetable J7/J8/J9 etc for June/July and then running that one till September before reverting to the normal 7/8/9 etc which was used instead of promoting them? Then dependant on which of the two Capita routes you went it was either doing manual assignments or importing SLK files to assign students Will see if I can dig out the guide as it's a few years old now if that's what you mean Steve
  4. We're looking at doing the same currently, with the A3/A5 and P2 for Stu/Staff, but as you said it's hard to make P2 fit with Servers compared to the alternatives like the SWGFL Sophos deal at £6~ per year P2 is needed if you want Vuln etc on servers, but with us having 20~ VMs (then hosts/backup servers etc on top) it's looking like "just" P2 for servers will cost more than the entire estate covered with Sophos would have cost Steve
  5. Certainly happy to! Steve
  6. From our side per TB. User pricing (unless very well priced) generally works out poor as the majority of students don't have large on-site storage anymore with OneDrive etc, and yet would be the majority bulk of the licenses being paid for Steve
  7. Had that same error previously occur for a number of issues so don't think it's one specific items sadfully I assume if you're doing this at home you've done things like add the WIFI profile for your home network (or joined the wifi network on the apple iPad on the welcome screen prior to running past that stage?) Ensure you've got "Activate and Complete Enrollment" unchecked, we found some MDMs you need to manually assign it via ASM first to the MDM now and if you have that checked it'll fail as it can't find it yet (Also make sure no enrollment URLs in the blueprint have been changed as nowadays most seem outdated so easier just to do that via the DEP manual settings in ASM) Would also be worth checking whether they're new enough (OS cap wise) to do it via the iPhone version of Configurator as that seems to work better for newer models too Steve
  8. Thats not quite true Veeam socket licenses came with free VUL licenses too that are only active during paid support That was confirmed by Gostev a few months back as some people got hit by it when not renewing Steve
  9. Also annoying that everytime you click on the “alert” you get a 404 page instead of the page…! steve
  10. Yep broke here too!
  11. Not used them yet, but was reading up on them a few weeks back on Reddit. Seems the consensus is "Fairly good but New-kid on block" - Seems to have the basic scanning options, but lack of automated fixing dependant on the CVEs etc even with the paid upgrades. Also really requires the paid for addons for automated frequent scanning etc Even their own wording is "RoboShadow likely covers around 70-80% of a standard internal and external penetration test, and represents a significant part of the vulnerability assessment process." - So I guess it depends on what you're looking for, a rough idea or a fully compliant scan/test etc Steve
  12. When you say account manager is that a third party reseller? As that sounds more like they're trying to pull a fast one for selling you old kit! As far as I've seen there haven't been any recent Meraki EOS notices they're all older ones from last year, for example the normal MS350s etc that schools got lots of were announced Aug 24 but EOS'd Aug 25 and EOL Aug 30 so you'd end up with 6 years coverage (Would be worth checking what the actual announcement date was as again if they were sold knowingly EOS etc) You're right that most the Meraki 10 year licenses are "charged" as 5-years equivalent, but that shouldn't affect any pro-rata refunds. 50% of 10 years lost is still 50% of the original cost to license 10 years etc Steve
  13. Can also be dependant on the brand of device. If you're using AutoPilot etc things like Dell devices have their own power management "levels" so their High isn't the same as "normal" high as such But you can specify the time for sleep etc as a specific value as well rather than just using High Power Plan Steve
  14. After a powercut sometimes you need to push/re-instate the doors settings back to the ACU for it to kick back into action Steve
  15. How new is new? Normally some of the big mail junk lists seem to automatically add a new domain until it's had a few days at least live. Are you bombarding emails with lots of signatures/html/attachments that could be flagged on a new domain name? Also when you say about DKIM etc, is it setup "prior" to the new domain being added? It'll still pass tests if it's got DKIM applied to the onMicrosoft addresses at least from previous experience, but if the new domain isn't setup for keys etc too it will get filtered Steve
  16. I haven't used it recently but I thought a few versions back they changed the formatting of the queries so I wonder if you've viewing the older version on the videos etc So it'd be something now like: {?last(/a1-ubnt-edgeswitch/net.if.out[ifHCOutOctets.49])} Steve
  17. Was there a specific issue you're getting with it? As long as you have your accounts being sync'd from AD to Azure it should still function when accessing it as it'll use Cloud Token/Trust from the InTune device. Obviously you'll need to open things like firewall manually as it won't accept inwards connections from a non-domain device by default Steve
  18. Evening All, With this being exam season etc are these going to be recorded/posted after the day or is it only viewable live? Would be good to see them! Many thanks, Steve
  19. We are looking at P2 for the same purpose currently. On it's own it seems quite badly priced for Edu purposes because of the way it licenses via Users, but if you're going via EES/JISC etc it becomes better as you get 45%~ discount on it and access to device licenses rather than user based If you're comparing it straight to Sophos it won't work out pricing wise, but if you're looking at Vuln management etc on top of it (for example compared to Tenable/Nessus at £4k~ extra on top) it works out well Steve
  20. Is it the actual messages or Apple push notifications etc? As they would come under different rules steve
  21. You can deploy it via a few routes but if you're not using Hybrid easiest one is just re-activating them via script with the new key (think of it like a new MAK key unique to you for updates) Steve
  22. Having moved to somewhere recently that uses Senso I can’t say my experience is good with it Everything just seems a bit off in terms of how it works compared to other products For example, set a group of machines to shutdown and random ones don’t but next day it’s a different set Logging for safeguarding we find random machines just stop reporting and logging until reboot One day a machine will connect next it won’t etc etc We will be looking at alternatives for renewal as we just want something we know works and can trust to get reliable and repeatable actions Steve
  23. Nothing at all by the looks of it... just more Bromcom scaremongering tactics As per the linked article Yet again the Bromcom PR machine just spouting out more of the same biased articles/websites that make out something that isn't actually said? Steve -
  24. In that specific search the term was just "department training" - Which I'd be expecting it to be returning the threads more of which are related to that phrase in general over picking things like "train" in Bullet Train title before showing threads with all the details etc. Examples from Google: IT Staff Training/Sharing Knowledge - How do you do it? - General Chat - EduGeek.net In house IT Training for staff - How do you do....it? - EduGeek.net Training for Technician - How do you do....it? - EduGeek.net Training Providers - Online - General Chat - EduGeek.net Just seems like it's more focusing on single words in general (or even partial words like "Train" a dragon rather than "Training" etc) Steve
  25. Another thing I noticed, I'm not sure if this is just a case of an odd search algorithm or whether it needs time to "re-train" itself as such on the new forum, but the Search Tools seem very poor in terms of finding old threads to the extent it's easier to Google search for Edugeek and a phrase than find it on here via the search option. As an example, searching for "department training" thread I saw a while back today brings up two threads, one related to Azure, and one to Network Managers (rather than departments), before going way offtopic to Papercut Departments, SIMs Marksheets, Movies about Trains etc, where as doing the same search on Google is finding all the old threads that the old forum search would have brought up: Not sure if there's anything you can do to tweak the search as such but it's definitely not showing up the items I'd expect to be finding when searching for a phrase Steve
