Hi there We have a sharp tv pn-q701. It's connected to the wired network. All good. Unfortunately this TV doesn't seem to be able to schedule itself on or off within the menus. Because it's connected to the network, I was wondering if I could send some commands to it over ip. The TV supports this. I've no idea about how to send pc commands to the TV. Ideally I'd like a script which we can schedule to send on and off commands. Hi See attached! We use Google drive across our school. Some teachers see folders where some files or folders have a cloud icon and other files or folders others don't (within the same folder, and all within Google drive on windows).Any idea why some folders seem to sync and others don't.Thanks

Thanks timbo343. Haven't got the specs of the line to hand but upgraded relatively recently with what at the time was a really good upgrade. Will check. Re backup, current plan is to use qubebackup to do an on site backup.

Good idea around backup internet phones. We have a few mobile dongles that we'll keep on standby.

Thanks elsiegee40, that makes complete sense. And agree - it would typically only be minimal time that the internet access goes down. Not really worth a seperate dedicated line.

Morning all, (apologies mods, had 2 questions on previous post and have now split into 2 different threads). Hopefully this post helps others thinking about what we have done and are doing, too. We are a large primary school (630 staff, 120 staff). We have windows network (server 2016). We also use Google Workspace, especially Drive. We've moved to solely using Google Drive for all of our SLT, teacher and office team files, and removed windows mapped drives which were used previously. We have retained some windows mapped drives but for less important stuff, but the important, regularly used files are on Google Shared Drives. As an aside, we'll also be using QubeBackup to create onsite backups to a different local machine. This will use a single, dedicated account and we're only really interested in backing up the shared drives. We've also implemented 2FA for remote access. We don't have SSO. Has anyone else moved from using shared windows drives to Google Shared drives, and found any caveats or things to be aware of? Our broadband speed is very good, but has anyone found speed issues or bottlenecks? If teachers are constantly saving (and hence Google Drive updating), has this created any problems? Thanks in advance.

Was thinking of having a separate machine to have a offline download of the shared drives, and having a ready to go mapped drive that we can deploy through gpo to give access? THanks for your help Sagima. Is there any way to speed up setting permissions? When I am setting the replication folder in the DFS console on DC01 for DC02 (creating a new shared folder), I then have to set the permissions again on that folder. ALso, does the staging quota need to be at least as big as the biggest file to be replicated for that share? Default is 4GB, but the drives are only 1TB (small primary). If I set staging too high, presumably it will eat up a lot of space, especially when there are multiple folders to be replicated.

As stated in a post a minute ago: We have a win 2008 R2 DC. It was our only server. I was concerned about if this server goes down! So.... I've added an extra 2008 R2 server. It has AD roles and File Services role, including replication and namespace roles. The issue I have is that when editing GPOs, I can do it on the secondary (new) DC, but whenever I try to make changes on the PDC, it seems to not let me, and says things like 'being used by another process'. But when I make the change on the extra DC, it works straight away! I would rather be able to make GPO changes on both DCS, preferably on the PDC. ANy thoughts?
