  1. Not sure if this would work for you as it depends on how you're booking them, but if you do a "New Meeting" in Outlook then click locations it should show all available rooms for that timeslot without opening any calendars manually Or do you mean just a full overview of who's using it etc, like a room booking system, but using the 365 rooms? Steve
  2. If you mean just scripts you could block them via AppLocker (Under Script Rules as it affects ps1/bat/cmd/vbs/js) then add an allow/whitelist rule for \\DOMAIN\NETLOGON\* etc and host it via there. We do the same for VBS anyway so individual user tries to run scripts from their area it'll block but login scripts run from NETLOGON still Steve
  3. If it's for SLT more than Guardians, have you talked to Salamander about their Team Activity Reports? They used to be able to enable a report that gives you an overview of all teams/assignments etc: Might help if it's more just for the school side of things Steve
  4. When did you enable it? It's not instantly sent it's only a weekly summary which is why lots of schools don't bother with it as it's too out of date to be of help really. Just wondering if it might not have triggered yet - Also I assume this was enabled in the Teams assignment to send out to guardians? (if it's not done globally in admin yet) Steve
  5. I'd say the first point is where/why are they using all that space. To put that in perspective 120TB would be 400 staff licensed with A3/A5 (100TB + 50GB per user). That's an average of 300GB per staff being used even after your other 57TB reduction (ignoring students for now, considering most the storage is normally in department areas etc). We've got 600+ staff licensed with A3 (131~TB limit) and are barely hitting 30TB across all staff/students. If you haven't used it before they added new storage reports under - https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home?#/storagemanagement - which shows where all the storage is allocated including by product/user etc. You may find a few select people are abusing it for personal storage etc or archives of archives etc and a lot could be freed up easily. Run the "top users" reports etc to see who it might be As others mentioned, why do you have 5TB allowances set? If it's that high and it's being used its likely that staff are replicating files in individual drives rather than using shared areas etc - For example 10 copies of a media file instead of using shared team with it in etc Steve
  6. Support company creates unique patch to keep RM running Support company makes schools stay on RM with unique patch Support company makes lots of money as only company who can support it and can charge what they want Profit! or something like that I assume?!? But yes obviously, everyone should be binning RM asap and looking at a supported setup! Steve
  7. The only thing I can think of was it used to be that by default SIMs makes Academic years 365 days as a default and would auto fill holidays in anywhere there wasn't a term. Therefore meaning that you would have clashing days on 3rd/4th. But I thought that was fixed previously and when you make a new academic year that clashes it'll shorten it automatically. Just to confirm, you do have Salamander turned off not to publish next year items? As I'm sure there was an option to enable/disable this in the sync tools automatically. Many thanks, Steve
  8. Reading between the lines, is the issue that they're syncing the new years timetable prior to the academic year starting and you want it to show blank until it starts? (From the "Unless you can bring back the end of the holiday for a few days in SIMS?" line) If so there used to be an option to enable/disable that in the tool ("whether to override the change of academic year behaviour. By default, data processing is limited to the current academic year.") Steve
  9. Not used it recently but used to be this https://signup.microsoft.com/get-started/setupKey?ali=1 If you already have a login make sure you’re logged in first and it’ll show it slightly diff to add it to your current tenant Steve
  10. Microsoft blocked it temporarily due to other issues - Supposed to be a re release coming soon Steve
  11. Not sure who's been saying that! It's been terrible since we've signed up for it! Steve
  12. Silly questions, but a) I assume you're doing that on the console as you can't do it remotely, and b) have you tried it in Expert mode? (Not tried it in Easy Mode as to whether it even shows that option there) Steve
  13. Surely, unless I'm missing something out, you answered your own query If you don't want it on all network (e.g. students and stafF), remove it and put it on student groups? That'll give you emails only for students, not the whole network (We have similar but down to Year 7/8/9 etc going to different emails) Steve
  14. We are literally just in the middle of this So all leavers up to retention age that wouldn’t come across in Bromcom migration (unless you pay lots and lots extra for more years) came to nearly 5000 reports for us But obviously that will depend on your school size as the larger the year groups the more you’d need Steve
  15. Normally its for things like waking them up at night to do updates etc as well Steve
  16. MPIO will show all routes to a single disk, so if you have two routes without MPIO it'll replicate it twice as such (If you had 4 routes you'd have 4 copies etc) Regarding adding it in, on that "Discover" page, the IBMs at the bottom and needs you to click "Add" after selecting it Should then just reboot it once more and if MPIO is working it'll only show the 1 disk Steve
  17. During Covid era we had some requests for similar from DT staff (to show woodwork/chopping/cooking etc) and went with iPads using screenshare to Reflector on the pc. Appreciate it may be dearer but ends up more versatile and better quality normally (obviously if you have iPads already its a cheap solution!) Steve
  18. Honestly found Bromcom helpdesk to be one of the most useless since we've started with them. Either they have no actual staff and it's an AI that closes your ticket after every reply with generic information not even related to what's been asked half the time, or someone is paying their staff based on seconds taken to close tickets... Never had to re-open so many tickets so often in my entire IT life so far! Steve
  19. If the SLT has page admin (in terms of your "linked" comment) they should be able to submit an Owner Dispute which if successful would transfer the page ownership to another account. Regarding the ID option I guess that depends on what the person setup on the original account, as if for example they set it up under a personal name (then made a school page on that personal account) they wouldn't let you take over the personal account that route. But again you should be able to see this under the page admins as to what name etc it's registered against, as the "main" facebook account probably wouldn't be a business name. That'd only be the page reference. Steve
  20. Hi Darren, I sent over a list of 10 items to the email address you mentioned previously as I didn't have a helpdesk login yet but haven't heard anything back - I can re-raise them as individual tickets if it helps Thanks for confirming. Yeah it's odd. For something that's been made to sound all singing and dancing, it seems to miss so many basic features we've had with SIMs for years (and even odder that certain things that did work seem to be broken by "new features" Will have to keep nagging via the ideas area you mentioned! Thanks, Steve
  21. Anyone had any updates regarding the slow reports? We've just moved over to Bromcom over Easter and between the "error/failed to run" and then eventually report loading speed it can take a good 5-10 minutes to actually get a single report out! So much slower than we had on SIMs One of the biggest complaints is from our Cover Manager as it seems there's no simple way to print cover registers for cover staff (as not all have logins to Bromcom) and the "Blank Register" report doesn't seem to work for covered lessons only "official timetabled" ones, so by the time she's manually viewed each timetable/ran reports it's into the hours currently to print the lists off Many thanks, Steve
  22. If you get anything official please let us know One last school on RM who don't want to budge currently, so would be nice to give them an "official" push as such Steve
  23. Morning Darren, Thanks for the offer. Will get a few of them summarised up and sent over if that’s ok (as we aren’t fully live yet we don’t have the full helpdesk yet so would be good to try to get a few off the list for when staff return to Bromcom after Easter as it’ll be hitting the ground running) Many thanks, Steve
  24. I appreciate we're from a different perspective, but we're just in the process of moving over to Bromcom and already finding lots of issues that don't seem to be workable with no real answers coming back to us. As an example, despite having a direct contact point as part of our migration we've raised an issue where support staff can't access teachers seating plans (as there seems to be an "old" seating plan route for support that they can view by accessing a teachers class, and a "new" seating plan route for teachers and you can't view the new ones unless set in THAT class as the new view won't show for them) and despite asking for any updates as to how to resolve this we just get answers like "it's working as expected, if you want to change it raise a development idea"... Obviously having two different routes to the same items that half our staff can't use doesn't seem very "working as expected" - Being able to see a teachers seating plan as support staff or a cover teacher would be very normal for us. It's just an example of something (as there are many others) that either seems to be certain staff lacking with information, if there is an easy way to resolve these, or items that because modules are being updated on the fly that it's getting disjointed in it's way of accessing items as somethings updated to a new system, yet another route for other staff isn't - I know it may be the case that it'll be fixed soon or updated etc, but just constantly being told to raise development ideas etc isn't very helpful responses in getting an actual answer Steve
