  1. Hi, Some students are having issues with Jamf Connect on select Macs, when they log in with their Microsoft credentials it will fail sign in, and then their next attempt will tell them that sign in for this account is temporarily blocked. I've checked on the admin center when this happens but It doesn't mark their accounts as actually being blocked, but when they try and sign into a different Mac it gives them the same message on their first atttempt. I'm planning to re-enroll the Macs during the summer holidays to give them all a refresh, but has anyone had this happen themselves? And what did they do to fix it? (We're sure it's not the students logging in with incorrect passwords)
  2. Would you be expected to work at every school or is it a case of one main school and be on hand to assist at the others?
  3. On the Smoothwall dashboard there is a top domains option that shows daily bandwidth usage by website. Not sure if you're after per user instead.
  4. No, they delete any of their files, it's more of a badly worded way of saying they can't delete apps that are on their laptops (they wouldn't be able to anyway without admin permissions but if someone magically finds a way to do it then it's on them) They also can't install apps, only admin access can - Again, it's just a very very generic expectations form.
  5. We rolled them out but with a basic Laptop agreement: · The provided equipment remains the property of [SCHOOL NAME] and must be returned in good working condition (normal wear and tear accepted) upon the termination of my employment with the school. · The equipment will be used solely for work-related purposes and in accordance with expected professional standards of behaviour and conduct. · I will not share my access credentials or passwords with anyone. · I will not download any programs or applications, nor will I delete anything without first consulting the IT department. · The equipment is covered under the school’s insurance while in the possession of a staff member and with the Head Teacher's permission. However, there is no coverage for theft from an unattended vehicle. When at my home, I will take all reasonable precautions to safeguard the equipment from loss or damage, ensuring it is stored securely and out of sight when not in use. · I will immediately notify the IT team if the device is lost or stolen so it can be remotely locked, and any confidential data secured. · I will report any faults or damage to the IT team as soon as they are detected. · I will return the equipment promptly to the IT department at designated intervals for necessary updates and checks. · The school’s standard ICT Acceptable Use Policy for staff applies to the use of this equipment.
  6. Would this be something you could share with me? Over DM if it's not something that is public on Edugeek currently.
  7. I think they're looking at getting a cheap one to test how well they work by putting it in the hotspot of where most reports of vaping happen, and if all goes well getting proper ones installed. I saw one say that either Halo/Verkada do a trial period to see how well they work - Is this still something that's offered? Not sure who the company on here is that deals with these.
  8. Hi, We're looking at getting a singular Vape sensor for one of our toilets as a test for how well they work. We've bought one but had to return it as for Wireless connection you have to put username and password in to connect, but the device didn't support that. We've looked at a few more fairly cheap vape sensors but all use the same style app and don't support our method of logging in.. Does anyone know any vape sensors that can connect this way wirelessly? The main things that they're looking for is mobile notifications when an alarm goes off. Wireless is optional but preferred, and pricing would hopefully be between £100-250. So far any using the Tuya Smart app or Hestia App don't work. Thank you
  9. Has anyone managed to get xbox cloud working in a school? We seem to run into issues with it and have opened all suggested ports but still keep getting a black screen when it attempts to open a game.
  10. Not too sure if the service restarts, but for us when we close the WAgent down it automatically restarts and looks as though it kicks itself into the right policy group afterwards.
  11. We've been able to fix it without logging in and out by closing the WAgent.exe in task manager Gives it a 'faster' fix than the whole restarting.
  12. Could you possibly DM me a link to this? We're looking into it but would love to give the exam's team a chance to play with the software before they book a meeting with TextHelp
  13. https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/accessories-and-software/docking/docking-usb-docks/4x11n40212 We use these to connect our Smartboards to the teacher's laptops, might be worth checking to see if it works? Have to plug it in for power but might work?
  14. I've added it to our whitelist just to make sure, both sites gave a security warning when I tried to access them Will check back when the filter has updated and see if the issue is still around.
  15. I've just checked services and it was off by default. Switched it to automatic start and rebooted with no change. Any other ideas on this one?
