  1. I don't mind the students coming back! It's the staff I dread, can only hope they have been to the common sense shop over the hols and stocked up
  2. My finger is not on the pulse. I catch up eventually
  3. IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION FROM GMB UNION Dear Colleague, As the Union for all School Support Staff, it is unfortunately with a great deal of anger that we at GMB are contacting you today. The Education Secretary Michael Gove has announced that he wants to see ALL Teaching Assistants in schools lose their jobs. Yes, ALL Teaching Assistants to go, because according to him, there is no benefit to be gained from having what he considers to be a "mums army" in the classroom.

    Stone laptops

Defo agree about the lid flexing to much
  5. Agree sharepiont is a beast and out if the box on pretty, but disagree it can be very useable as a website. It can be styled to look like any other website. Some examples http://www.topsharepoint.com/nptlg Coupled with inbuilt link to active directory it just makes it so usable. Hands up all those that have copies of policies on websites and stored internally in shared areas not knowing which is the latest version I am working towards doing just this. Our web manager has styled our sharepiont intranet to look like the website Just my 2 pence worth
  6. Got to say that pink looks quite good. Also good deterrent from thieves!
  7. Yep Lots of calls from various companies every week, not one of than a patch on Very-PC. Makes my life so much easier.
  8. Very-PC https://www.very-pc.co.uk/ I fired and email to Very-PC after seeing a pic someone had posted, on edugeek, of the Broadleaf Access which had been custom branded. After the initial call form Tom Burkinshaw, within a few days had had a custom branded demo unit to have a play with. Being a school, I wanted a PC that was student (bomb) proof. The broadleaf totally fits the bill. Front facing USB are changeable, massive bonus, our lot love destroying them at the minute. Case is really solid, I have no doubt that it would take my 12Stone (All right 14Stone) standing on top of it. The branding looks really, really good as well and all part of the package. We also had a requirement for laptops. Again within a few days we had 3 different laptops to play with. I cannot recommend Very-PC highly enough, it’s not often nowadays that I find a company with such excellent customer service levels. Nothing was too much trouble. Every question we fired to Tom was responded to straight away. Tom was even badgering the various manufactures to get the answers we needed. The purchasing of equipment from Very-PC didn’t fall into place this time, other events overtook our plans. But as I say, I would have absolute no worries that these guys could and would deliver excellent products and service. If I do need kit in the upcoming month / years, Very-PC will be my first port of call. Just wanted to say, publically, thanks to Tom and Andrew Hopton for the impeccable friendly, customer service. Before anyone asks, no I do not know anyone from the company, I’m just an impressed, satisfied customer
  9. Thanks guys, these are really helpful
  10. Many thanks for this. Will have a play today.
  11. G'Day Bit cheeky, but does anyone have a student GPO for Win 7 that they are willing to share to save me reinventing the wheel. Finger crossed
  12. Ditto schoolsICT
  13. GATT Thanks for your time. Tested on two machines this morning all ok. Case closed till next time !!
  14. Tried to run it last night. Pressed F8 which got the prompt but could not run cmtrace, command not available apparently. So cancelled, rebooted the PC and let it run. It asked for the computer name again, I entered it, everything worked as it should this time. I have not made any changes, but hay it worked. More testing this morning!
  15. Hello In testing I have my task TS working as it should, joining domain, applying drives etc. what I need to do is just supply a computer name during the TS so it joins the domain with it. Found on google that the easiest way is to add OSDComputerName to the device collection. Done this. Deployed the same TS to the collection all goes well, I select my image, the next screen I double click and I get to enter the computer name. When I click next it then errors the TS. Any thoughts ?
  16. Cheers I suppose it also helps if I was not a numpty. I hadn't activated dirsync on 365 control panel!!
  17. Hello Just setting this up. Running the config wizard I get an error 'can't communicate' I know I an using the correct login. I am guessing its firewall related! Anyone know what ports this uses? Cheers
  18. This thread has been very interesting. I do often wonder to what extent church leaders really believe what they say they believe. If the bible is the word of God surly it cannot be open for interpretation. Osama bin Laden is the only religious leader that truly truly believed what he said he believes.
  19. Science and religion are diametrical opposed. I am confident that Galileo would also have something to say as well. Through the ages religion has stifled advancements in science. As science makes new breakthroughs and discoveries its interesting to watch how the religious twist / turn and interpret their scriptures to fit the now known facts.
  20. Can omniscient God who, Knows the future find, The omnipotence to, Change His future mind?
  21. If god did exist he is a bumbling fool. The eye is often held up as a perfect 'design'. It is self evident that it is not a perfect design. Who in their right mind would design something that is upside down, backward and has blind spots. Then rely on the photoshop like software of the brain to correct and interpret the signals. And why give far more potent optics to a lowly creature such as an owl or hawk
  22. Epicurus is the chap your after. His statement sums up everything you need to know about religion
  23. We have always resisted teachers having laptops in the classroom and always had desktops. Teachers could cope with plugging in VGA etc each time they move classroom. They do have laptops which we never see again until they leave. These laptops are going to be withdrawn soon. As with most other posts we provide the tools for them to do their job at school in school time
  24. Anybody recommend a laptop to run Solidworks 2013. I know it would be best on a PC, but hay out of my hands! Cheers
