We have a cisco 3560 (our broadband connection via local authority). I have various VLANs setup all going out to the internet via the default route ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.6.151.254 on port 2 on the 3560. Now on port 3 the local authority have provided ip address 10.130.254.9 255.255.255.252 (for transparent proxy) and told me to use 10.130.254.10 255.255.255.252 on my switch (5406zl) I have setup VLAN 8 with 10.130.254.10 255.255.255.252 I have now setup VLAN 100 with another IP range 10.130.144.0 /22 So now I want anything on the 10.130.144.0 /22 range to route out via VLAN 8 Portions of the show run below which shows the new ip route ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.6.151.254 ip route 10.130.144.0 255.255.252.0 10.130.254.9 vlan 8 name "TX-Link" untagged F30 tagged B21-B22,C1-C7,Trk1 ip address 10.130.254.10 255.255.255.252 exit vlan 100 name "TxProxy" untagged F19 tagged B21-B22,C1-C7,Trk1 ip address 10.130.144.1 255.255.252.0 ip helper-address 10.80.1.35 exit This doesn’t seem to work. If I do a ‘show ip route static’ I get the below, no new ip route. The command I used to add the new route was ip route 10.130.144.0 255.255.252.0 10.130.254.9 I have done a write mem command Destination Gateway VLAN Type Sub-Type Metric Dist. ------------------ --------------- ---- --------- ---------- ---------- ----- 0.0.0.0/0 10.6.151.254 10 static 1 1 127.0.0.0/8 reject static 0 0 Am I being a complete plank? Does the switch need a reboot for the rout to take effect?

Edu-it Yep we are a school 980 secondary 120 primary, just about 115 staff. I say about 115 staff as I can never keep track of the amount of teachers that come and go [emoji53] It is just madness the amount of printing that is done. Lucky that unprinted jobs get deleted after 12 hours. I should post up that report.

Wow that would have been my old school with a lot to change. Plastic trunking everywhere it was the only thing holding the place up at points. If it saves live and I'm sure it will its got to be good

We have OneDrive for business. iMac OSX 10.8.4 Safari version 6.0.5 Before anyone says. It is not a folder I am uploading and it is not a zero bite file When trying to upload a file, either by drag and drop or upload I keep getting the error message “We can’t upload folders or empty files.” It works fine on google chrome On a windows machine with internet explorer it also works fine using the same file The mac is on the same VLAN so nothing to do this filtering Thanks all

Hello Have a look at delprof2 We pushed it out to all machines then a simple bat file on startup. You can remotely remove profiles on any machine. It does clear out any reg entry for the profiles as well Cheers

Not sure what forum to stick this post. We are an all through academy school. the admissions staff on the Primary side have asked if there is any software where they can measure with accuracy the distance from door to door (as the crow flies) from applications for places. They are getting cases with next door neighbours disputing who is closer to the school. They have gone to the local authority who will not help as we are an academy. An 'on screen ruler' with google maps is not good enough apparently in cases of disputes. I have poked around google but not much luck so far. Cheers

Is it possible to use the meru aptive portal to authenticate guests on our wired network? And Would I want to, maybe packet fence would be better. Is only very small scale max 10 physical ports in one room Cheers
-
Cheers I will give the free version a bash first. Sure the teacher that request it doesn't even know what he really wants it for! Par for the course with my lot 😡

Cheers for the info. What's it like in system resources I assume the PCs need a bit of grunt ?

Afternoon Teacher has just asked for Unity game engine to be installed. Just wondered if anyone has it installed across network for students to use. If so any problems you have had. or Is it all going to go swimmingly :-) Cheers

Thanks folks So consultants and agency staff should be counted on the staff count if they do over 200 hours.
-
Thanks The supply staff are all agency staff, so they don't get paid directly by us. So we won't always get the same people.

I have had a look through edugeek but can find an answer. We have EES. We currently have a number of short term supply staff. In for a day or two then someone different. Are these staff covered by the EES?

A member of SLT cam into my office the week before summer hols and said we are going to be using Show My Homework next term. Someone from SMH will in touch to get you to set it up. As you have done tombo343 I started looking round the net as found the same things you did, home work public, facebook twitter etc. Went back to the SLT member and pointed all these things out who said "ah well we are doing it anyway so get it setup" found out they had already paid! I set it up, installed the SIMS link software, then problems. Our SIMS data has always been all over the place. so we have staff personal email accounts were syncing with SMH as the admin staff do not put staff work email address in SIMS. they do now. it took them an age to get it correct. Also Student emails (the ones we give them) have never been in SIMS. In SIMS on the student details, admin here have always put the parents email accounts so when the synced to SMH the students have the parents email address. you need the student email address so they can reset their own password, etc. I pointed out data protection, copyright, heaven only knows what teachers will upload! SLT wanted me to administer SMH, I was told SMH do everything, creating the letters to distribute to parents and students. They don't they give you a template with mail merge and let you get on with it. I have refused to get involved with SMH beyond what I have already done. (not sure how long I can refuse though) What really makes my blood boil is We have been using Moodle for a good few years and last year brought it inhouse to integrated with SIMS and Active directory. No need for teachers to create classes, courses etc. Students can view there own timetable. The students use the same login, parents will be able to access the VLE very soon. A one stop shop for everything SMH don't even come close to what an integrated VLE can do, but oh no SLT knows best. In one of my rants to SLT, it turned out this SLT member never logged into the VLE and didn't know it can do so much! AAAHHHHH. We have a few teachers who uses the VLE a lot and been setting homework on for a long time using it for a teaching tool in lessons all their resources are on it the students know it. He has been told he must use SMH. SO students have to look in two places now one to work during the day and one for homework with a different login. If I have rambled and nothing makes sense above its because I am angry at the waste of public money and time of staff and students on an SLT whim!

Just found out that this chap that is to have the laptop is the Clark to the governors. Assume this make no difference ?
-
Going to make it clear to line manger in writing I don't think it should be happening. But do it The laptop will be locked down tighter than a nats chuff. Bet in the very near future I will be asked to remove restrictions an leg then install software

I kid you not, even to raise it internally here would make my position untenable. Seen a number of staff raise various things in the past only to the isolated, cold shouldered and force to leave. Things have been raised at VERY high levels externally for nothing to happen. Sure at some point things will come and bit them in the bum

Ah prop why the iphone and iPad was returned 2 years ago !
