Thunder at lunchtime, sunny for the moment.

Apparently, my council charge £few hundred to even LOOK at the job. Neighbors enquired rather than me so I don't have exact figures.

I think my boss would be P'd if I left 45 mins earlier on a Friday... And remember, it is only 45 mins if there is a charger free when you turn up.

One gotcha we've found is that they are very fussy on cables. Seem to work OK with £ching M$ cables. I wonder how they "fixed" that?

A trade off between sitting in an m-way services with the great unwashed, drinking coffee priced at more than their petrol, rather than sitting at my destination with a beer. Hmmm... Let me think about that. In reality, I'd rather use the train, but that would be £180 and 4 1/2hours for the two of us return, or a tank of fuel at £60 and 3hrs.

Renault Zoe - Mandatory £59/month battery rental. That's more than I spend on petrol in a normal month!
-
Ummm - so wouldn't a setting that allows battery to charge whilst being towed be a fix? Even my near 60 year old bladder empties in substantially less than 45 mins! On the journey to my father's that adds nearly 20% to the travel time.
-
I'm guessing NONE do at the moment. You'd get towed to the nearest charger would be my guess.

Gavin Williamson - the man who called Corbyn a security risk...

More expensive than what? Where else will £38k get a car with that level of performance? (Annoying thing for the day - no way can I afford one!)

We use Javelin Controls, Basingstoke based. That said, ours is a vast site with a bizarre mix of buildings and plant. They may be over the top.

Pic 6 - please tell me that isn't the "drama studio"...? -
Geek photographists... Can you recommend a good book for a late DSLR adopter? I'm frustrated by the need to look at what I'm doing with menus rather than looking at my subject...

Not really an AF; but it should cause some mirth this afternoon:- One of our teachers is now wheelchair bound, except he has an electric device that will stand him up and motor around. To facilitate his teaching, I've bought a sit/stand desk which I've installed in the lab he'll be using. Now, until a new lift is installed, he's having to use a biology lab downstairs, and the normal user of that lab is upstairs in a physics lab. Shall we leave it as she is "Altitudanally Challenged"?

Promethean Activ Boards - We're taking out 5 over Easter; up for grabs if you can use them, and collect. They require a SERIAL connection - No USB. Maybe some projectors too! (Don't ask what, it depends...) In Winchester.

At my school, we are worried. Don't yet know what the solution is, other than apparently we aren't yet investing in another job-lot of calculators.

In god-benighted countries you are allowed to have sockets in bathrooms. -

If you drop the WHOLE CHARGER in, then yes. If you drop a charging phone in - no. -

Tell the insurance company to do one? Offer to see them in court? If your colleague was at work, and has the Head as a witness, I'd be inclined to tell them to boil there collective heads. -
And from the left field... These - fit in standard desk cable holes.
