  1. All businesses trade right up to the wire. Otherwise your shareholders bail out early.
  2. Do ATOL pay directly, or does the tourist pay then reclaim later? I can well see the hotels trying to hang on to the little bargaining power they have.
  3. The planes will have been impounded by the airports as they won't have been paid landing/service fees. Probably a lot of tax/duty owing too.
  4. Most of these fans are pretty standard things. It may well be possible to replace it, if the bearings are shot.
  5. Built in the 90's with damp problems?? There are no excuses for ventilation being that poor, you need to look carefully for a problem. Say a slow leak in the plumbing upstairs trickling down inside a wall.
  6. Nah... sounds steep, but not necessarily awful if there is more than a panel involved. Scalers, distribution etc...
  7. I had an old recorder and thought I'd stick a larger disk in. Well, it worked after a fashion, immediately formatted the disk to the same size as the old one. Booo! Put old disk back in, it re-formatted that too, wiping the things I wanted to save. ++Booo! Take care...
  8. Is there some weird setting on the PC whereby the browser is trying to "draw over" something or do some weird split-screen thing? Is it exactly 1/2 the screen - implying something is doing it deliberately, or just a chunk? Try yet another browser?
  9. And it was Banks 'n' Co that got all twisted up over milkshake jokes...
  10. Playing with a macro ring for the first time... All natural - no 'shopping.
  11. I saw one that was new to me at the w/e. Eventually identified it as a Mint moth. And we've got Median wasps - much less fly-in-your-face-fk-you wasps than the stripy b@srd Vespa Vulgaris ordinary ones.
  12. Get some isolating transformers. Almost certainly down to how the ground is wired internally.
  13. For those that understand gratuitous technology isn't always what the teacher needs or wants... I made a "sash window" arrangement of whiteboards in front of the sh*** interactive board which was used by one teacher. Very much like the Column Board above.
  14. Nice, but I really need them OFF my desk!
  15. THAT'S THE BADGER!! What did you search for ffs?
  16. Before anyone says it - no, we are NOT ripping the disks to a server. Right, with that out of the way, I'm looking for filing pockets for disks. I know they exist 'cos I've got some with software disks stored in them. However, I can't find them any more! They look like the attached, take 4 disks and hang in a filing cabinet. I need 50 or so. Googlefu has failed.
  17. DON'T try this idea! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-48852890
  18. There isn't an official "Pick Up". They really don't want anyone hanging around in the drop-off lanes, but if your passenger is ready, it wouldn't be a problem.
  19. I can't work it out. I picked MrsC up at 5 in October, used the CP right by the terminal, and don't remember thinking "**** me! £ching for 20 mins!"
  20. Yes and no; keep your wits about you as is is "busy" with signs, cars, pedestrians, etc. The signage is particularly "interesting" as there is an information overload.
  21. I can't remember what it cost to chuck it in the short stay for a few mins, but I wasn't horrified. Can't see any reference on the www, so may have changed.
  22. You had to say that out loud, didn't you?
  23. Someone makes a tape witha pocket in the middle for your cables. Means you don't end up with a sticky residue on them. I'll think...
  24. Humid - dark. The latter could be more to do with one phase of our supply being out; yet again!
