No; you're blocking "most things" on your network. What they do on their home network is their parents problem. That said, I'm unsure about snooping software being installed on someone else's device. Though I doubt that it is illegal if done right. Informed consent - removed when they leave - secure - etc

I may have said before - A friend was working in an office block on a very similar problem. At random times, the network collapsed with all sorts of weird symptoms. Of course, it wouldn't do it while they were watching. Sitting on the corner of a secretaries desk, flirting, he asked what they do when it is broken - "Watch the boats in the Manc ship canal going down in the lock". Which was where the earth plate for the building was. The water cleared the plate, a voltage between true earth and the signal earth of the network was established, and the equipment fell over.

We moved SIMS to iSAMS this term. Much swearing. Some things seem easier; but for a punter to produce a year group list with sets? How can this not be a front page action? Housemasters are cursing printing reports - seems every one has to be printed individually. There may be ways to do these things, but not for us mortals!

Don't over complicate things! There will be significant lag if you go digital, you say "no audio" but if they can hear the stage, the sound will lead the image.

I'd look for a camera with composite out, and a TV with comp (maybe on SCART - yuk) as it is all so simple, and if it deteriorates it tends to do so gracefully. If HDMI is over length, it can just stop.

Providing the A/C can achieve the cooling required, there is little point setting the temp below that required by your equipment. Otherwise you are wasting power. 20-24 sounds reasonable.

But you are talking of "everything through a PA", not little Johnny mumbling his words, into a shared radio mic they won't hold as you tell them, on the other side of a tennis court sized room.

Don't expect TOO much; without a lot of extra work/kit. What you have described really needs several mics, and a mixer.
