Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)
Andrew_C replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
According to the Zoe study, SE and SW are rising already. -
Argument Yard... Is that an album name? Sure there's a musical connotation somewhere, folk-rock maybe?
-
Nah; we had a photo of one of the bggrs. Been quiet for a week and a bit.Bait probably got them. Now to wait for the stench...
-
Most cats take a look at a rat... 'Nah, I'll pass'. You need a terrier for ratting.
-
Nope. It proves we're on a disk. What I don't get is why you don't see the shadows of the elephants or turtle.
-
We're currently dealing with rats. I'd hoped for starlings, but the trail cam caught one. They are moving all along the terrace of 4 houses, between the felt and tiles. Bait and traps in place; not heard anything for a few days. Camera from Nature Spy Shop.

Not fridges. They* won't touch them. *Whoever "they" are.

Just look at the viral load at day 5. WTF are they thinking? -

It isn't ALL that bad. I've been reporting LFTs regularly, until the school moved to a saliva trial. It could easily be better. ie a "Has anything changed" tickbox at the beginning which skips to to the Pos or Neg page. -
The biggest problem with the Surface range (at least the ones we have) is that M$ have used a bizarre multi way connector for charging as well as data etc. When I priced Lapsafe modifying our cabinet, the only way they could do it was to cut the cables off the wall-wart chargers. Much cheaper for me to build those chargers into the cabinet myself.

I'd be grateful if they'd stop playing it too. Just because I don't like it. Or much of the other music of the era. -

Away with you and your common sense and decency. That sort of thing has no place in Britain any more! -

There, fixed that for you -
"Mountains oceans giants" by Alfred Döblin, the first English translation from German. Weird - written between the wars, looking ahead to the 27th century. TBH - I'd read a few of the first chapters, then skip forward to where they start work on Iceland - Section 5 I think. You won't miss much.

The Wildlife (and Gardening for Wildlife) thread
Andrew_C replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
Hah! We have two, one brings mice in, the lets them go, the other sleeps. There is a cat next door too. So far, it seems the incursion is limited to the lofts. -
The Wildlife (and Gardening for Wildlife) thread
Andrew_C replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
My wildlife news is much less fun. Could easily be in the 'annoying things' thread. Rats. In the loft, and all of the neighbours lofts. They HAVE GOT TO GO. -

You know, one of those might be sort of true? Bottom right corner - wellness. Seems from ZOE data that a healthy, plant based, diet, DOES offer some protection against plague. And probably many other things. -
Or, but not quite as bad, the No Va.

Expect to start seeing 'science' from about June, I gather from my astro-physisist step-step-nephew. Who has just got a 3 year research place at Harvard. Smart arse.
