  1. Exactly This. Suggest you look at the Teams control panel in O365 its been enhanced greatly over the last 6 months so you get a lot of data on the teams made in teams in it.
  2. You not doing like many other guys and just buzzing it off for being annoyed with it then My Landlord and building manager have stopped accepting parcels for the apartments citing Coronavirus concerns for the staff they employ for that, you'd think fine people are home to get own packages except the building was built with no intercom from the outside world to flats onto to the Concierge desk which isn't manned fully now.... so packages are going undelivered now due to this GRRR
  3. Yes it is, the Skype user needs to be using a Microsoft account for the skype sign in not the old fashioned Skype name. Whilst it does seem to sometimes working and search for a Skype name it doesn't always work right. I find both sides need to search and add each other to contacts and for the user on Skype for Business this process only works properly on a PC client not the Mac one so the Mac trick that seemed to work was get them to use a PC temp, add them to contacts and then go back to the Mac and they show up and work.
  4. Is this an on-prem S4B System or Office 365 S4B? If its on-prem Mac OS is much more cert fussy and certs that work fine and validate fine on a PC don't always work fine on a Mac. Whilst this is the latest for Catalina OS doing the details on it would be good: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210176
  5. Ive been in several deparment / floor calls recently with many just shouting at laptops (as they were nah we don't want to spent the money to get everyone a headset) and its been reasonable and with the next codecs coming to teams in the near future i am hoping it may get better. Its better than Skype for Business was at coping and I think modern laptops have designed themselves better than previous gen ones did.
  6. Using teams is quite easy you have 3 ways: Direct Routing where you buy a box plug your ISDN / PSTN / SIP into it and that pipes it to Microsoft so one off purchase cost for the box and its support from the VAR and then you just do the MS Licenses as normal and pay the phone bill. Users need phone system licenses from Microsoft these are optional at some levels and included in others. You can get Carrier Direct Routing where its the same thing as above but your provider does the hard work for you so they run it on SIP and a big managed device for many customers so means you dont have a box on site etc... You can get MS Calling Plans where you port your numbers to Microsoft (in the UK this is COLT on behalf of Microsoft) and then buy a plan a user that needs calls and that includes minutes per user (but they are agrigated over the pool of users EG 100 users with domestic calling plans with 200 minutes = 100x200) Devices you can get desk phones, ensure you buy Teams ones that are very new and run Android OS not the Skype ones that work with teams such as the Poly VVX as these will stop working in a couple of years and Poly have already said no updgrade route to Teams Devices. You can use the softclient of Teams on laptop / mobile phone etc and then if on a mobile you use the headsets etc you have for that phone. Headsets etc for Laptops etc you can buy from the MS List they start around £20 a device for Teams Certified but generic stuff does work with it, we have staff just using apple headsets on laptops and they are working ok you can tell its not a Teams Headset as it lacks some quality but its perfectly servicable. My MD is using his Airpods via his Apple stuff and works fine (they are not on the list) but work fine for audio he is happy and hes clear enough. As others have said it does depend on your needs, how many minutes, supportability, functionality etc... as whilst many above mentioned are free you should assess the true value of free if for example you use Asterisk are you all famikar with Linux? If so could be fine but if only 1 of you is and your off sick how would the team cope with fixing Linux issues? Not saying don't look at free or use free but ensure its evaluated correctly with the appropriate safeguards around supportability given voice is still very important for education, phones down for a day whilst somoene learns linux may be a cost too far so you may buy in support services / get an Asterisk appliance etc... so very much a don't not look at them but ensure you go through all the boxes and ensure management know and keep it in mind with staff turnover / changes etc...
  7. You can edit the phonebook via via GPP and use it to push it all out if its all done in the Windows VPN wizard. You just need to open the PBX file and use the edit features in GPP to edit the lines etc.
  8. If you need major fine grain input control maybe need to run stuff through a mixer / system first before sending to Teams then you have more control and whilst it still will have some of the auto features it may not interfear as much?
  9. No issues reported here and we have quite a lot of mac users working from home using it on at least Catalina and Mojave on latest patch set
  10. With the Teams Admin Centre in O365 you can see team data in that eg channels, whos in them etc and manage without being in the actual team so no need for you to be the owner if you don't activly need to be in it. Where I am for the first few months of people using a team we are in it then we leave it and just re-add back in via O365 Teams Admin centre if they need us to go in and help. Some groups like us in then they can tag us and go how do I do X, why is Y not working (yes i know they should use the helpdesk but we all know that battle!)
  11. Are you meaning a Teams Live Event? If so you can use OBS and other tools within that and do a range of sources.
  12. Same for a Microsoft Teams meeting start it, record it its stored in Stream (or whatever its called now) or can be downloaded and you could upload into whatever system you want. Ms did warn the other day the processing of those videos as its done in the cloud is on a lower priority to ensure resource for live active calls / conferences etc so maybe a bit slower to re-encode and process the output than has been in the past.
  13. We can't find a link in our account, does anyone know where it is as happy to refer new customers if we can to help save. All we are finding is that its a partner / reseller referral now
  14. Not sure if our business account can recommend a friend as we use it as a business customer. I'll ask the person whos the named account holder in the team later today (they are in the US so won't be till after lunch)
  15. Do you use Microsoft Teams? If so screenshare in that? if you do a Teams meeting and use Edge or chrome you don't even need the app to screenshare
  16. Teams does use SharePoint for the "files" part of it as well as if you upload files they are stored in SharePoint so yes you do need SharePoint Online working. Making teams needs O365 Groups - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/admin/create-groups/manage-creation-of-groups?view=o365-worldwide should help you a bit on that.
  17. Sounds like a bad excuse... load them all into MS Forms / SurveyMonkey etc boom job done and self analysing!
  18. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/ediscovery-investigation < that should help you, all chat is tied to the mailbox and if its setup right in the back end is searchable via eDiscovery.
  19. As Canon make there own equivalent of Papercut (Uniflow) we find that Canon are less helpful when it comes to something in the FW changed and upsets Papercut so ensuring your Reseller is a good one with Papercut and Canon is vital for sure. I have Papercut on mine and it works fine but have had a couple of sitting in the middle of Canon V the Papercut reseller due to things being less updated than expected and also as we use Fiery RIP which isn't as good with Papercut as I would have hoped but we have certainly got going. The latest Canon interface is nice and removed some of the niggles of the old one for sure.
  20. I've not heard of Olivetti for many many years so thats a blast from the past. I've used Canon MFDs for 6 years now in 2 places and found them to be good, where I am now we are direct with Canon and they are ok, I do have to chase RE firmware and some things but the kit is stable. I used a reseller where I used to be and they were proactive on firmware and checks and was good but the kit certainly seemed good and robust.
  21. Not sure if its an option in Google (as I don't use it) but in O365 you can tag items with different retentions, takes training of users etc but its doable for those LAC's that need longer retention etc... O365 then processes based on those tags you can set base tags that apply unless overridden as well.
  22. It always varies, I work in business and neither Legal or IT were consulted by management initially they made some sweeping thoughts based on what they though was right then enacted an internal data collection exercise which pushes the limits on being acceptable by our privacy policy and even GDPR... the air was quite blue that day and we are still battling some level of stupidity with them so its honestly frustrating but no better in other places!
  23. Microsoft are doing something similar due to the Virus - https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/3/21163744/google-microsoft-free-access-coronavirus-google-hangouts-meet-teams Also Cisco giving away WebEx free due to it - https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/cisco-offers-free-webex-licenses-to-deal-with-coronavirus LogMeIn also doing some bundles for free - https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/logmein-offers-free-emergency-remote-work-kits-following-coronavirus
  24. @robk maybe able to help as he has this if i recall
  25. Not a dig / poke at SB but general advice... Before putting signature on contract, it pays to review and then discuss with the provider, whilst they may refuse the change you maybe surprised, I have had Virgin Media Business change some items of T&C and SLA before for a business contract that had areas of contention and to clarify points. If you signed a contract saying the monitoring point for SLA is at X and X is too far upstream then you accepted that you should challenge it back to get to point Y for example.
