  1. Spookily ICT Direct on thr stand have a machine setup for this, if your at BETT do come and speak to them!
  2. Incredibly sad news for a legend who brought Drag to mainstream TV without needing to do a US Reality Show, he also did so much work for Hiv / Aids in the 80s,a famous line is when the Royal Vauxhall Tavern was raided by Police in rubber gloves he quipped oh look we've got help to do the washing up! I know a number of the Drag Queens I know spoke highly of him and some have worked with him and no one ever has anything bad to say speaks volumes a true friend for all human and animal [emoji22][emoji3590][emoji304]
  3. The most important bit of BETT is back... EduPizza! Now the covid show challenges are gone do join EduGeek for Pizza at 1pm for each day, generously sponsored by Smoothwall the usual common selection is here so do come and see us for Pizza and freebies! We’re between doors N10 and N11 alongside ICT Direct
  4. Go from Euston to Euston square (short signposted walk out the right of the station basically) and get on the eastbound circle line to Tower hill and walk across road to tower gateway and all trains go to Beckton which is what you need simples!
  5. Are your ups not smoothing that out to give stable 230 or 240 out? If you frequently have spikey power your electric DNO maybe will consider putting loghers on the incoming supply to see but as was pointed out its within the tolerance so kit should be fine with it.
  6. I'd agree with your reading as having the bearer at 1g means it's a Config change and pay a bit more to turn up faster in most cases. Sometimes maybe new routers as some providers may issue a 1g bearer but only put kit that can take say 500m on it so always worth the question what max throughput will the router / firewall / filter cope with if its at max on day 1 you have a problem.
  7. Do feel free to say hi to us, we don't usually bite even that early in a morning as we've usually had some form of coffee and basic food before going tesco for lunch / snacks / survive the day items [emoji6][emoji106]
  8. Just an FYI... Bett closes 5pm on Friday not 6pm this year.
  9. Hyperoptic 1 Gig Symmetric Internet, I only currently get 150 symmetric as I don't pay for the full Gig but its just a click away and it speeds up. The flat also is full FTTP wired as well so its been well planned. I got my mum onto B4RN in the autumn so dug the garden up and ran the fibre from the field behind the house and into hers and through to the router and set that up and that has made such an improvement from ADSL for her especially now she can video call etc which makes a difference now.

    SharePoint and Macs

Depends where the issue is the user should have a valid MFA setup using the app is the prefered method (download MS authenticator from Apple or Google store its free) and set it up. They should do that from the aka.ms link I gave. If they have messed it up then you as an admin need to reset MFA in Azure.

    SharePoint and Macs

That is a standard MS Auth that you have attached a photo of you should ensure you fix the MFA in Azure / O365 first and get it so they have the app setup and working first. Once that is working (aka.ms/mfasetup is the quick link for the end user) get them to go to office.com and sign in using the school details and auth if/as required. Once in then try and get into the SharePoint site see what happens this time. You may need to clean out the Keychain of things from Microsoft as well which can help and use a private tab in a browser to help remove cache issues It works fine on Macs we have probably 80 people globally using it daily so its not an incompatability.
  12. Happens in business a well, annoyingly our staff have loved making group chats and then having issues with new people being added not able to access files etc... telling them that this is what a team is better for hasn't gone down wellv but sadly end users do love making a mess at times, but on a plus they are praising IT saying they love Teams and thanks for pushing them to come to training etc so we are taking it as a win even if they are not quite using the right feature in the best way. A massive plus on meetings is if you use Chrome or Edge its totally software free for meeting participants it wil just ask to use your webcam and audio stuff so say yes and then your sorted no installs etc so makes a really simple conference tool.
  13. Can you get the headers and analyse them from one of the mails that goes out see if it shows anything like SPF / DKIM / DMARC setting that is wrong and thus failing / forcing to quarentine or that a server on-route is on a blacklist.
  14. Any IT people drink tea.... Yes I hear a cry. The great people over at Bird and Blend Tea Co have remembered we exist! Well worth a buy from them I have a good range of tea from them and it's all very tasty. Details on the offer are in the attached photo or on the social media for them. They have done this for other key workers. https://birdandblendtea.com/uk_en/
  15. That meeting setting @MYK-IT is about who can get in and start it, by default anyone that isn't authenticated cannot start the meeting and has to sit in a lobby to be admitted / wait for an authenticated person eg an internal useror a guest of your domain. Pros and Cons over that setting for us as we still have some dinosaur staff we have it set to let them as you need your leader pin to start it if you dial in on a mobile phone for example and our staff never note that pin they got in an email or where to reset it until too late.... Have you done the simple thing which is open outlook and send a Teams Meeting request to your personal non school email and tried on your own device to access it and see what happens. A lot of the settings your talking around are not around having a video conference call but working on a collabrative basis like @MkII indicated you may find that you are already setup and enabled without any changes.
  16. If its all you have got its better than nothing, we used it at a site until we got a true server to run our usual stack. Didn't use as a print server we just installed that locally on machines as its a small site so didnt take too long.
  17. Is this literally to do conference calls? If so guest access is much more that is about bringing people into your organisation to work wtih you in the actual teams / sharepoint etc... which has its place (we use it where I work with key partners) but for a video call we just sent a Teams Meeting from Outlook and they join using Chrome or Edge or Teams app and requires no changes to permissions etc it works for anyone. Have you tried that from an exchange account send a Teams Meeting request to your personal email and open it on a non company machine and see what hapens.
  18. Yep we use that for contracts as they need about 6 signatures so the 40 page document gets the 1 page signature page on the front and makes it clearer for sure. DocuSign which we use for contracts (but is £££ more) has a way to handy tremplate feature that allows you to share them so it was a 3 click and done not found that in Adobe Sign but we brought it in as a rush job the Adobe Sign so not fully dug into as it was how can we replace this quickly to ensure we pay bills etc
  19. We just use Adobe Sign and Finance load the PDF Invoice into it and they know who needs to sign so they specify them, drop the boxes onto a space on the invoice and a free text box for info / notes and they put in the message part of the sign request what info they need to go in the box. Works reasonably well bar invoices that are signed by the sender that messes it up (DHL for example) so we have to re-print it to PDF and then send that signed one out.
  20. By deafult unless you have modified it, if your using Exchange / O365 it shows free/busy info so you just need to block out when your not avaliable and then they can see when your free.
  21. Thanks This will be something to enjoy trying with my new laptop with its pen tried a couple of ones in the windows app store and its addictive!
  22. Test and certify is going to be a couple of hundred quid at a guess its more time consuming the prep, clean, fuse, test with OTDR etc than the components as the splice parts, pigtails etc are low cost. Talk to a small vendor rather than a national firm about it. I know I got my usual vendor to test out the pre-term and some other stuff we moved around to confirm all good after some building work and was a few hundred quid as they sent one guy for an afternoon.
  23. Honestly unless this is your day to day business its not worth it, the cost of the kit to do those items is prohibitive. The way I moved was to either buy pre-terminated and pull it myself or pull the cable and then pay a firm to come and terminate and test it.
  24. Teams to consumer Skype is rolling out now so will have to see if this improves behaviour or not as I do agree it has been very hit and miss in O365, where I used to be with on-premise S4B worked much better and did seem more reliable. As was said above just sending out a meeting is quite easy and as Teams is fully featured in Chrome and modern Edge there is less excuse to need to use it as you can just fire off a meeting and open in Chrome or Edge
  25. Sausage Plait was made this weekend with some sausage meat found in the back of the freezer Nice and simple take a sheet of puff pastry, Chuck the sausage meat in a bowl Add in some softened onions and other items you like EG Pepper, sun dried tomato, mushroom, basic herbs if sausage meat is plain pork etc... and 1 Egg. Spread the sausage meat down the middle of the pastry and then cut diagonal slashes each side of it and then brush with some egg and milk blend and fold over so it covers it all up Bake in the oven 180 degrees for 40 mins-ish. Serve hot or cold
