Hi Everyone, I have been asked to improve the 4G and 5G signals in one of our buildings, a recently constructed sports centre. The sports centre is used by both the school and the public. The building kills 99% of all cellular signal as soon as you enter it, presumably due to the materials used during its construction. There looks to be a number of systems available however I have zero experience in this area and am concerned that I will be over or under sold a product. Currently I am looking at this device with 2 additional internal antenna's the sports centre is about 40mx25mx20m Next-gen NS-2000-Smart+5G amplifier Does anyone have any experience with this sort of technology? I would really appreciate any info or gotcha's when making these kinds of purchase Thanks

Apologies for necroing, We have recently been having issues with audio delays in mock Media and MFL exams. When the sample media plays in VLC we get audio initially, but when the clip is paused and restarted, or if there is a period of silence within the media file for students to write answers the audio delay occurs and the students miss around 3-4 seconds of the audio before it can be heard again. I believe this link has a solution Reddit-Post In short Windows seems to disable the PCM audio stream if there is no audio signal, and when it detects the presence one the HDMi/HDCP handshake has to reinitializes before the audio can be heard. This reinitialization seems to be the cause of the delay. We have been testing the linked Sound Keeper exe which for us has resolved the issue completely for us. We use HP laptops and docking stations connected with USB-C and then HDMI to a Smartboard from the dock all with updated firmware and drivers. Just to note that the issue is not present when use old the good old 3.5mm headphone jack or when using Linux via the USB-C + Dock setup.

Smoothwall Cloud Reporting

We currently have a local Smoothwall installation and having recently seen a demo of the cloud reporting feature I am keen to set this up to allow our DSL's to generate and run their own reports in a friendly format. However there seem to be a couple of issues and I am wondering how other schools handle them, 1) There does not seem to be tiered access for users, which means that any users can see the reports generated by any other user, This is a potential problem because if there is a need to run a report on the browsing history of a staff member as part of an HR investigation then this is available to all users of the system. 2) Log files are no longer stored on the local Smoothwall which means that we cannot use the local Smoothwall for reporting separately to avoid the above issue. How are other schools handling this? Thanks

SmartBaord GX075-V3 HDMi Sound Problems

I have just noticed that an update was released on the 1st so I am trying that now -
Hi Everyone, We have recently replaced all of our old interactive whiteboard and projectors with Big Screens specifically the Smart Board GXV3's in a variety of sizes. Since the most recent firmware update, we have had problems with the screen itself and a 3rd party sound bar, which is attached with optical cable failing to output sound. Does anyone know if it's possible to roll back to the previous firmware or if there is a solution other than keep turning the board on and off until it starts working, Our current numbers are, Android Version 13 Kernel Version 5.15.78 build number TQ2A230405.003E1.37250 Version 1.6.20241025 TouchKit Version T85_S755.6.2 SRM Version 25.10.3.717

Thanks but I don't think those changes will help us, I suspect that a firewall rule is the cause but I am not able to locate it in the GUI and the firewall logs also don't seem to show anything that I have been able to locate.
