What are you using Apple Configuration Manager on? Are you pushing a Wi-Fi Profile to the device via Apple Configuration Manager? I've had a similar issue before, where it would just fail to provision, turns out the device was trying to call home and failing over Wi-Fi, so I had to turn on Internet Sharing on the Mac we were running Apple Configuration Manager on so that it would communicate when the device was wiped and then provisioned.

Yep this happened on my MBP 2012, You can buy the replacement ribbon cable for quite cheap on amazon or at least when I brought mine it was cheap! Apparently you can prevent this from happening by putting a single layer of electrical tape around the ribbon so that when the cable rubs against the chassis it doesn't sand itself and short out, that what I did when I replaced the ribbon cable in mine. I used to have Xubuntu on my MBP when I was using it, ran very well for quite some time, got me through college when MacOS was EOL on it!

I presume you are moving on due to Microsoft immediate retirement for MDT announcement? Have you looked into PSD By FriendsofMDT on GitHub (https://github.com/FriendsOfMDT/PSD)? Basically replaces all of the VBScript stuff in MDT with PowerShell scripts, this is what I'm hoping to use if it works out well, when I get around to testing it.

Thanks, I will look into that. I tried Ticker Tape again on another Windows 11 Machine and it seem to be working now, so I must of done something wrong.

Hi all, There used to be a bit of software called TickerTape by Amber Software (https://web.archive.org/web/20220811121226/https://ambersoftware.co.uk/downloads_tickertape.htm). It basically displayed a rolling message at the top of the screen, really good to let users know that something is down or of an upcoming event but not be in the user face. Unfortunately it looks like Amber Software are no longer in business and TickerTape doesn't seem to work with Windows 11 or at least from what I've tried in brief testing. Does anyone know any good alternative?

GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/) or paint.net (https://www.getpaint.net/) would probably be a good options as a free alternative to photoshop, that works in an offline settings.

From memory Senso seems to run scripts from the scripts module line by line so when the senso service restarts the script doesn't continue. Also I found the CMD module very unreliable. The way how I did it was by creating a batch script saving it to a file share and then doing a !run("Path\Script") from MiMiC as that cause the script to run on it's own. I may have my script somewhere, I will have a look for it. But it's possible that senso may have changed the way how modules works since the last time I used it.

If memory serves right, you can force a policy sync by stopping the senso service and deleting the modules folder from the senso Program files, then starting the senso service will cause the client to force sync all the policy's back down to the client. Not sure if that still works as it been a while since I've used senso. I made a script that I could start from the MIMIC option in Senso so I could reset classrooms when I changed something. From when I used Senso I found it rather unreliable when make changes to it, though that may have just been me.

I believe you have to pay for a subscription for the remarkable as it saves to the cloud, however I could be wrong. Have you looked at the Supernote Nomad?

I like old PC cases, I have one with a integrated VU Meter. Most of my retro machine make the lights flicker when they turn on, then once they turn off the lights return to full brightness. Though not sure is just just for my room or for the whole street..........

I've come across a similar issue before and it turned out to be a corrupt GPO and making a small change to the GPO so it could re-save fixed the issue for me.

I switched to WinAmp on my personal machine a while ago as I had some issues playing back FLAC files in VLC Player. I just like how quick it is and some of the small features, like it fading out and back in when you pause a song.
