We've got a couple, they're fine, and the lamps are pretty cheap (less than £100) at the minute. Personally I won't be buying any more traditional lamped projectors for classroom use. The Casio LED projectors are great, a little more expensive but when you consider that there are no bulbs to replace, filters to clean, and the other advantages such as the almost instant warm up/off they are certainly worth it

Run the cables up inside the wall? Or run a length of trunking up - not as neat but easier to do :/

Our teachers put up with calibrating their boards with their laptops. They often teach most lessons in the same room so don't always need to calibrate too often. We're hopefully moving to having a desktop in each classroom connected to the whiteboard/projector.

I use foam cleaner and some blue paper roll.

I used to listen to Kerrang radio, Last.fm player or Spotify when I was in the server room. Now I'm based in the library I can't really listen to music Playing music loud to drown out the background noise of the servers is even more damaging to your ears!

Right click on 'My Computer' and click 'Properties', does that display any more information?

Outlook Web Access already takes care of this and the devices just need pointing at it.

What are the specifications of the laptops? Are you using Windows XP or 7? Wired/wireless? If wireless, what is your wireless network?

Went into Richer Sounds to buy a Freeview HD PVR, the guy tried to sell me an expensive HDMI cable and told me to throw the included one away(!). I explained to the guy that HDMI is digital and as long as the cables meet the HDMI 1.4 spec the picture quality will be the same. He was having none of it and thrusted a Cambridge Audio flyer under my nose explaining why I was wrong. TL;DR - Richer Sounds told me to buy an expensive cable. I didn't. Cambridge Audio

We're using PaperCut to monitor/restrict printing. We've only had a few kids come to us that have run out of credits. Staff have unlimited credits, but all the printers have restrictions set, preventing them printing class sets of worksheets to laser printers and 100 page course specifications etc! This has encouraged the teachers to use the photocopiers more

We've been waiting for one (long range) for months now! I didn't think they were this hard to come by

As others have said, Papercut has this functionality. Classroom management software such as Impero and RM Tutor often has this feature also.

Interesting... we bought it direct from RM earlier this year and it's working fine on Windows 7.

I would recommend them. Test the driver that Samsung supply first, if it works fine then roll it out, if you experience the same issue as us I'll forward the modified driver on to you.
