  1. A shutdown task and WOL. Or SCCM with maintance windows. one before they close and one when you WOL them first thing in the morning.
  2. @harnzfrazer, the helper probably got you to reset your cache. Could you do so again? it may help. If not maybe install a new browser until school opens up again. You may get some joy if you email either your teacher or support staff in school.
  3. I had no joy with the update. it was v odd. the Ts method seems to be a winner.you can set it to deploy as you would an update but can also run it manually if you opt to show operating systems in software centre. we've experienced it taking between 40 mins and 4 hours. you will need to change the timeout window and it will run quicker if you nuke profiles first.
  4. how did you deploy? did you use the software update method or the ts sequence with the extracted iso?
  5. 8 staff, 6 teachers and administator and a site manager. Wonder how many TLR's
  6. Any classroom management or monitoring software installed?
  7. Are these your only two servers? You don't have onsite file storage, print servers, DHCP, radius , backups, etc etc?. The Disks don't seem right. 10k disks in Raid 5 aren't that quick. Not for virtual machines and not for a DB intensive VM, unless your m.2 drives are intended for that in which case having your other storage on one array seems odd.
  8. I'd imagine the difficulty comes when they try to install software that goes with the printer. usually from FREEDRIVERSFORFREE.FREE.Com . or windows trys to install the little apps.
  9. What does your policy say? That's the key. In my opinion actively monitoring staff without good reason is over the top. Your alerts should be in place to raise concerns but proactively monitoring the staff members screen is an invasion of privacy. Same as keylogging, useful at times but should only ever be accessed with a proper reason as part of a documented procedure that includes waht they are looking for, why and who is sponsoring and accessing the logs.
  10. I'd power on the core infrastructure but not nothing else. Core switch and servers only.
  11. And this is the crux of the problem, no one has mentioned it because it's not having an affect on T+L. The room is being destroyed because teachers are taking kids in there without intention of T+L.
  12. Wisesoft NTFSfix is the answer to this. Create folders per LM, then create folders per person. Then set nfts perms on the LM level for LM and %username%
  13. Do one of two things. 1. Fix everything, document your time and the money this costs. Check the room 3 times a day and ensure everything is replaced before the next visit. This is the cost of keeping lessons running the best you can. 2. Fix nothing. The frugal method, let people see what damage is done and how that affects T+L. Don't do anything inbetween. It clouds the issue.
  14. first google search suggests changing to uefi mode. is the deploymentshare accessible? does the task sequence format the hdd properly?
  15. That's the thing with CC4. It isn't GPO. It does things using registry hacks, scripts and scheduleded tasks. If you try to change things outside of the console it will cause the sort of oddities you've faced.
  16. Where abouts are you based? It sounds like you have a mix of CC4 and other problems.
  17. the finish action comes after teh summary is displayed and cleared unless you've set it not to..
  18. I use wisesoft password changer, can run it lcoally or from a network share. all good options tho.
  19. Is time zone ok?. Not sure what the issue is from here. Is it a VM?
  20. If you are connecting using fqdn try using ip,or other way round. If that doens't work then psexec is best bet.
  21. If you can't ping the laptop then obvs it hasn't yet connected to the network. Not sure what the solution is but that there is the problem!.
  22. 147 gb seems large for an mdt server. Don't forget you can host your deployment share anywhere. You could move it to a new drive or even a server easily enough by changing a few variables.
  23. can you ping the laptop when it's on the logon screen?
  24. Are you using MDT or SCCM? MDT has a monitoring option Monitoring Deployment with MDT 2013 | Askme4Tech
  25. Had the following pop up for a student on two different machines. Can only think this might be related to symbols he's using?. Any advice.
