Is there a way to stop one AD ou from logging onto a machine easily?

ok guys, i've burnt my brain on this one. without using roaming profiles how can i get windows to use folders for all the above from a mapped userarea rather than the c drive. if it helps i've twiddled with ranger to set the folders as part of the userarea but i'm darned if windows respects my authority and pays them any attention!! tia

remember that teaching staff are slightly condesending at the best of times, but when they're faced with a person who provides them with a service and who could be considered student age they might well develop somewhat of an uneasy attitude. Best thing to do is remember who pays your wages, settle in, change their attitude slowly and surely by impressing them with your technical skills, your attitude and your work ethic. the best advice given to me was stay proffessional untill you know better!.

software licences are such a PITA, i have massive problems with staff not understanding that just because a license covers all the computers in our main suite thats its not a site license!. i have a simple policy for installing software, they bring me the install media, the license and the helpdesk ticket. if its already existing software they give me notice so i can assitane if they are eligable or not.

is he using the reset button?, maybe someone's hacking it?. not sure if a power cut would effect it?

thanks user, that would be great, i've managed to do it with my pda by importing a certificate (which i'm happy to manually put on said laptops) so i know something is possible.

drat!, would creating a dummy computer in AD be enough for radius to authenticate? (sorry to ask a dumb question, i dont have a laptop to test it on atm)

I've just set up radius to authenicate using ad to check computer accounts. Can anyone recommend away of getting guest computers onto and off the wireless easily?

hello all, sorry to ask what is most likely a daft question. i've just put a new mobo in a machine, and didn't put in a new power supply. now the machine randomly freezes and takes a while to boot (boot itself is fine, its the build up to boot) . power supply is 200w, how likely is this to be the problem?

hello all, first my apologies , its not such much a problem but a recommendation request, i couldn't see anywhere else to put it!. We have a very intelligent girl who has huge problems reading, can anyone recommend a decent text to speech program she could use. ideally it should also include some sort of ocr so she can scan in docs. any suggestions welcome, either for use in school or her personal use. thanks in advance!
