They would need to be picked up from Birmingham (not delivered). Someone may be able to give them a new lease of life! The Ruckus kit is solid and served us very well over the years. Its been a fundamental lifeline between the staff laptops and network resources over the last 8 years. The zd1200 and r600 procurement was to help provide coverage for our new STEM building in 2016. With a large number of older APs that would require refreshing along with a need to facilitate BYOD we decided to roll out a Meraki solution.

i have just hold of the deployment instructions from here http://www.capitaess.co.uk/home/Deploying_aSIMS,FMSandDiscoverUpgrade_usingSOLUS3.7or3.8.pdf i did it manually to start with so that if it goes pair shaped i have not affected to many clients. it appears to working now. i have v7.161 on the sims server. thank you for your help on a rainy sunday Steve!
-
thanks, i have downloaded the 2 upgrades and got to the targets tab. i assume i need to deploy the update to the sims server first for it to update the server components first. The sims server appears in three different entries, sims database, sims file server and sims sql server. do i select all three and click on deploy now?

i accidently upgraded the sims server using solus 2.24 (which is what i have always used) to the sims autumn 2 upgrade. i should have used solus 3 to do this. In the solus 3 deployment tool i can see the downloads sims autumn 2 and the sims database 2014 autumn 2. the status is available. Would deploying the two downloads using solus 3 just overwrite/skip the already installed autumn 2 upgrades on the server? server is 2012 and running sql 2012.

The lapsafe device was very good however as we have several flights of stairs the solution did not work for us. I just measured some of our steps and their 7" high! We may have to drop the idea of transporters and have trolleys on different floors.

I remember chargebus.co.uk & loxit.com at BETT 2014 who are now getting some quotes over. Lapsafe seam to have a ready made solution too!
