  2. Does the new DHCP list a gateway and DNS servers? Are they reachable?
  3. Sounds like the common theme we are seeing in lockdown, someone is inconvenienced so must be compensated by being given what they want without following due process.
  4. From the profession that flocked to sparklebox after the negative publicity, also the profession that bring you a CD and ask you to install it for everyone.
  5. You could describe the problem to them rather than present them with a third party diagnosis and remedy..... it looks like you've turned on accessibility try Left Alt + left Shift + Print Screen
  6. red and green electrical tape. and a bill to the head for the cost of short fly leads to protect the ones in situ.

  8. Wininstall LE used to be the one, this may work https://www.itninja.com/blog/view/how-to-use-the-appdeploy-repackager
  9. right click on the group and you'll be able to set the maintance/service window. In my experience the updates won't install until the deadline has passed.
  10. new edge will be failing because it requires the powershell restriction policy to be changed. for the updates have you set a service window for the group? and have you set a deadline for the updates? if you want them to go immediately you will need to download and use right click tools.
  11. Find the original proposal for this scheme and annotate it with potential changes then do a swot analysis of the whole situation based on the original document vs the new reality

  17. There's very little resources needed, it mostly functions as a file server so you'll need a decent fast disk and a decent network connection. *edit, that was for mdt/wds, sccm is a big ol beast, you'll need a proper server for that!
  18. Wisesoft bulk ad users does this I think... Yup, you can export to excel or modify the password in the program. Then export the grid to excel and do a mailmerge? or just print off the spreadsheet.
  19. I like the ikea stuff. Bulbs are cheap enough and remotes are different but easy to setup. I have several where my house had electrics retrofitted so only one light switch in a big room, and a motion sensor in the loo. Nice thing with the big remote is that is has a magnetic case for the wall so you can relocate the switch where you want. Easy as pie to setup with a voice assistant and you can set routines.
  20. If they are moving from something as aesthetic as a macbook the only way to break their conception is to broaden their horizons. If you listen to what they found pleasing about things that aren't macs then you stand a chance of providing them something they would accept on an aesthetic level. And as shockingly bad as pc world is its about the only place with things on display. A tour of novatech/Stone/ICT direct would be better. Then you match that to hardware that will actually do the job!.
  21. serious suggestion... send some of them to PC world and ask them which models they liked the look of and why. Then worry about the hardware/spec.
  22. Same port? I know Epson do some funky stuff with HDMI 2
  23. Yup, Government money, PP money, council money. Just buy a chromebook and throw it at the kid before anyone notices the money is there. Then when it comes back in a week snapped in half you have to use actual money because you've already doubled down on the "educational benefit"
