Completely off topic but we are going live in September with the same setup. If you fancy sharing war stories at any point I'm up for a cuppa and teams chat

We had the same after the print server updated. Had to reimage nearly the whole site in a couple of days to get printing going again. So many red herrings before figuring out it was the windows client version .

Failover Cluster - Best way to do it? Any Improvements
titch replied to titch's topic in Windows Server 2022
That is exactly what I mean. Thanks. Do you think this can be installed on the new cluster without have to rebuild the original cluster? I wouldn't want to start again! Also from the notes I can't figure out of the storage needs to be identical for both clusters or just be the same partition size and block size? Does anyone use a stretch clutch? Anything I should look out for? -
Hi All We currently have a decent 3 host cluster connected to a San. In another building, we have a very old single server with local storage which is getting served replicators via Veam. When we shut down the decent cluster we need to "fire up" the replicas on the old replica server. I'm looking to make this sleeker a process by upgrading the replica server with 2 refurbished in a new cluster using local storage spaces. I know the world has moved on since this was originally set up and would like the replica server to play more of a role but I'm not sure if this is possible. What I'm basically looking for is some kind of: Constant Mirroring of Cluster 1 to the new Cluster 2 and Vis a Visa The ability for Cluster 2 to be housing some of the live VMs and take some of the strain from Cluster 1 Ability to failover "instantly" from each cluster to the other should one die So really in essence for cluster 2 to be "part of" cluster 1 but be located somewhere different with a different storage setup. We have a decent backbone to make this viable I just don't know if anything can work in that way currently. Thanks in advance and open to any different ideas

Can you upgrade the storage on the free one?

SharePoint "type" icon removed from column. Cant get it back. Really Stuck
titch replied to titch's topic in Cloud Services
Just to follow up with this in case anyone ever stumbles on this thread. I didn't have the same options as in the attached picture. My random fix was to turn everything back on. This strangely brought back the correct option for me. I could then happily turn everything o didn't need off. I "think" there's some kind of typo in SharePoint that changes the name of the field o wanted when turned off. I didn't have the time to check each field bit one of them worked and is incorrectly named. Hope that helps somebody. -
Very much so. Yes please.

Cases of MDM as a gateway for hackers?
titch replied to Colt's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Hi Colt. Don't want to derail the thread but are you after this for research purposes or because you've been asked by the hospital's IT department to install the MDM and you aren't happy with it. Whilst there is the threat of someone centrally wiping your device the central IT "should" have much better provision for backup and security than a one man band and you should trust they have this in place. It is there responsibility to make sure this in in place. A centrally managed system is infinitely more secure and stable if looked after properly rather than numerous endpoints managed by the end user. But as you are aware nothing can ever be 100 percent. If you have some of your own documents you wish to backup separately then do so but it shouldn't be you to worry about the backup and security strategy just to make sure you are doing your own bit as an end user. -
Socs co curricular. Maybe overkill for what you need bit does what you are after.

Out of interest....and I don't mean to hijack the thread but roughly what percentage of students use a laptop? We are now up to about a third of students for English exams! It's really time-consuming when you factor in all the mocks etc as well.

Any chance of a look as well? Thanks

Couple of Activpanel questions on new install
titch replied to titch's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Thanks again. South coast location. For ease I can see why it's better to have everything on one place but I'm still confused uf my android box ops is better than the inbuilt display android. Should I now be installing stuff to the ops or display? have to say the whole Promethean model seems a little disjointed.I don't love having old unsupported versions of Android sat on my network to be honest. -

Cheers for that. Much appreciated. What's the advantage the advantage of the OPS over the inbuilt panel hardware? I'm super confused with it Should I then use the MDM on the ops or built into device? If you've got the same app on the OPS as you do on the panel which one takes presadence? Really hoping the screen share works better this way as it's flaky at best currently -

You couldn't give me a heads up on where/how to pair the devices? If for example, the screens are app is on both the built in screens android and the ops how does it know which to use? Thanks -

SharePoint "type" icon removed from column. Cant get it back. Really Stuck
titch replied to titch's topic in Cloud Services
Thanks so much for the reply. The only options I have are in the screenshot above. You wouldn't mind showing me where you see Type (icon linked to document) in case I'm being a numpty? -
Hi In haste I removed the "TYPE" column from my SharePoint library. This is the column that shows the little picture to the left of the file name and NOT the addable column "FILE TYPE" . I've checked my other libraries I can see "TYPE" in the SHOW/HIDE column list but now I have removed the "TYPE" column from this library I cant see a way of getting it back. Any help on this appreciated as its starting to make my library hard to use!. Thanks

Are yours more than 8gb?

We are having the same problem. Feel like it's a power thing for us. Lid goes down and it doesn't go to sleep properly. It then needs a force off and on. Out if interest how are you getting on with the surface 4s. Have you got many?
-
Also needs 2FA on initial setup so may be over complicating it.

Completely bored of phones. Seems no point in upgrading over the last few years. Actually tempted to go back to an old phone as I end up hating myself for being so distracted with it.

Which ones have you seen doing this out of interest?
