  1. If any of you guys would like, or be willing to have a chat that would be great.
  2. Also looking to do the same. OP did you ever make the jump?
  3. Am I the only one that still prefers a pair of 4:3 monitors together. Obvouisly the more pixels the better but in terms of aspect ratio I just prefer I bit more height and a bit less width.
  4. Hi Wondering if anyone knows if this is possible. We currently have salamander copy timetables from Sims to meetings in outlook. Does anyone know: -can the default calendar event creation be changed to a teams meeting rather than a standard meeting -Can salamander make these synchronised calendar events a team meeting instead of a calendar event. -If not is there some kind of script that can turn somebody's calendar events into a meeting Thanks
  5. Thanks for the reply but picture hasn't come through. Ta
  6. Sorry, this is sort of a double post as I messaged in the Promethean direct forum as well but that doesn't seem to show up in the "what's new" section and so, therefore, nobody will see it and I might not get any community responses. Any help on any of the below is appreciated. All the boards are latest titanuim models. Thanks in advance Q1: Locked out We stupidly exported a config from one board and then and selected the button the removes the admin settings on import. We've now imported the config on another board but obviously, cant now get to any settings. We cant override the config with a new config because we can't get to the settings.................. Is there a way we can factory reset this thing? Also, we tried mashing some boot buttons on the screen and it came up with this boot menu. What is it? Q2:OPS VS in built Our boards have come with an Android OPS as well as the inbuilt android on the panel. Can anyone advise if there are any disadvantages of using one or the other? If I'm honest the OPS seems faster especially wen screen mirroring but the inbuilt android seems a bit clicker to use as all the features are part of the panel. I don't want to confuse staff and would prefer to use one or another. Any opinions are welcome. Q3: Can you change the names of sources on the panel? Possible? Q4: MDM Is there an MDM that can manage more settings or install apps remotely don't the inbuilt panel software? The admin app tat comes with the devices leaves a lot to be desired and I wondered if any normal MDM would happily work on the devices?

  8. As the title suggests. I would assume this is possible but I cant find it anywhere? Thanks

  11. Wonde also does a magic pass tye thing I think
  12. I have to say having taught KS2 that age group are generally more than capable of being taught how to login. It's down to teachers and how much time they want to put in (that isn't a dig, time is precious!). It's all about expectations and I think lots of teachers assume they are going to walk into a lab and they kids are going to login and start working through top end scratch lesson plans which doesn't work and they end up doing a poster about e-safety for a term instead. Realistically it will take a term to orient year 3 kids on logging in/finding there way round/opening and saving files etc. It's all doable it just takes time. My mantra with password was: Y3 first name.lastname easy shared password with handouts to copy if they got stuck Y4 first name.lastname easy shared password Y5 first name.lastname easy made up password but a lesson spent on how to make a good one! Y6 first name.lastname complex password with a lesson how to do it and how to keep your details safe online. In an ideal world all the kids would all be MFAd with a super complex password but need to be realistic and teach the importance of passwords. I can't comment on the new profile creation speed but this may be adding to a barrier of entry for the entire use of IT in the school. I would have a talk to head and stress how important it is and not that costly (hopefully) to get everything sped up!
  13. We are currently going down this route. Did you not find the filtering available enough on senso? Also If you are using securely instead of senso what will you be using as your firewall?
  14. BBC News - Matt Hancock: Labour calls for investigation into private emails https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57631547 Reading this article is suggests MPs are allowed to use personal emails as long as they forward any correspondence to their "work" email after. Surely that's not acceptable? Didn't Hillary Clinton almost go to prison for doing that? Are we over zealous in schools making staff use their work email?
  15. We have a couple around school. I reckon they may knock the noise down to about 20% so not unnoticeable but definately way better. Also no problem with heat. One thing to consider as they aren't cheap, is how much it cost to run the ports back to another can and cut that cabinet out completely?

  17. Hey, just checking if there was a typo with the salary on this ones as it's the same as the other job posted. Thanks
  18. I have to ask...is this a sponsored article?
  19. *edit. Just had a look at my spreadsheet. 5 mins saving per working day for a 40k teacher works out about £500 a year.
  20. That's depends. Anything I wonder "is it worth it" I always run through my time/cost spreadsheet. If you save am average salary teacher 5 mins a day you're looking at about a £900 quid saving per year. A £100 dock is a no brainer. I know this kind of spreadsheet is rudimentary and other things come into play but if management ever question your choice you have hard numbers to fall back on which can't be argued with. Time Cost Saving.xlsx
  21. Sounds like an absolute PITA. You would assume that a dock was capable and rock solid in doing the very few tasks it was designed to do!
  22. Still a bit confused. I would assume a dock either works or it doesn't. What actually happens when they aren't updated?
  23. Dock needs firmware?.........what magic does it have inside? I did wonder why it was so expensive.
  24. Yes please. How have you got on with it and which devices did you choose? Always keen on a chat with a fellow edugeeker if you would prefer a call?
  25. What was the difference between the 2 schools that made one be a pain and one work well - - - Updated - - - We are looking at surfaces and the expensive docks that go with them
