Ok this sounds like an issue we are having When the teacher prints the account pop up selection box does not appear and when you goto the properties of the printer you appear to have a cut down version of the driver if you look on the server you will find the documents waiting but not paused the only way i can fix this is by having a startup script that stops the spooler and deletes the printer drivers and then the gpo re adds them if you want a copy of the script just let me know are these toshiba copiers by any chance

is the sims.ini info correct check a client and the connect.ini this has the database name in it should be in the sims.net folder on a client

Yes we use it but the UI was made by chimps, it does what we need. at least we can install Sims discover and FMS in one go now

is this linked to the desktop.ini issue delete the desktop.ini file from the home folder and see if it comes back our homefolders appear to get renamed to my documents due to the desktop.ini file worth a look sorry if im on the wrong path

Our issues started on thursday last week staff caste seems ok but student castie very intermittent seems like a dns issue when the students goto Google they get a blank screen but if we put the ip address in google pops up We are not receiving any external email and can not send any out. reported to LEA but nothing fixed yet.
