just the helpdesk ticketing system for now basic stuff the helpdesk i have created only has 3 boxes to fill in summary location and description short but sweet but after a lot of trial and error with drop down boxes and tick boxes this way seemed to be the best way for our staff. -
I have just finished installing and getting spiceworks up and running but I am at the point of working out how to introduce this to SMT so that they buy into it. I have looked at the spiceworks examples but was wondering if anyone has a powerpoint that they used to introduce it to staff and senior teams. Can anyone outline the reasons they gave and and negative points that they might bring up in a meeting. I would like to be fixing a few nagging jobs right now hence the lazy can anyone do the work for me and send a powerpoint i can alter post. any pointers would be much appretiated.

our ad points to \\schoolserver\desktops\student so it is pretty much the same as yours also i think someone posted a pre made default profile for windows 7 on here
-
check the event viewer it should give you an indication of what is going wrong it might be a bung profile also how did you create it check on edugeek as im sure i found a guide to follow
-
yep what they said
-
yes thats correct \\sjc-storage\usersprofiles$\student.v2 for xp you should have \\sjc-storage\usersprofiles$\student in ad the profile path for the user should be \\sjc-storage\usersprofiles$\student windows works out which one to load have you changed the ntuser.dat to ntuser.man
-
no this is not normal are your mandatory profile .v2 or are you still using the profiles for xp example profile for xp would be folder name teachers for windows 7 folder name teachers.v2 the message is pretty much telling you that the pc could not find the specified profile

Dns issue. I had same problem. It was our dns server that was messed up. I set up dns on a vm and pointed the macs to use the new server for dns and the macs now work fine
