are you missing %username% as what you have done is set everyones docs to the same place

i use library tool google it it lets you set the librarys to network shares run it on your mandatory profile and edit the librarys so they point to your users mapped home folder. ours use the u: drive so mine points to u: for docs an u:\downloads etc hope this helps i posted instructions in another thread

cashless systems dont store the fingerprint they store a pattern made up from the fingerprint if they dont want it scanned they can be searched on the systems by name. not a big deal

cant explain why the new dns worked. but it did also added ip reservations for all the macs. no trouble so far. my dns passed all tests but a new one dns server fixed the issue. oh i remember my backup domain controller died and it held dns role also think the macs latched onto that server and would not let go.

hate this rubbish have to stop sql every day and restart it it grinds to a halt if not if it was not so intergrated with the school then it would be out the window support is the pits script monkeys unwilling to listen to customers.

What i did to fix this was to setup a new dns server and point the macs to the new dns server. Unbind and bind the macs Did you find that unbinding and rebinding worked and lets you log on but after a reboot the macs did not authenticate.

I had this problem turned out to be dns related

I have to report that capita support came up trumps with the installer under an hour I got a link and password for the required download.

i have been asked to install nova t as a standalone for our admin manager. not a problem I thought run the novasatellite installer added the licence file job done I thought unfortunately since moving to solus 3 the setups folder no longer gets updated. the standalone is running 6.28 build6 and our workstations run 6.29 build 3 I have copied the files from the sims folder on a workstaion and the version reads correctly (rough and ready) but I would like the proper install files i have a case open with capita but im not holding my breath anyone got the novasatallites installer to hand

Ok here is my problem After a few hours of getting wamp to install on my server 2008r2 I have all the services online (green icon) on the wamp server I have done the following using myphpadmin created the database name mrbs added the tables via sql menu copied the contents of tables.my.sql and run them as a query tables have been created added the sample data to ge me started copied the web folder into wamps www folder am i missing something i get the following screen where is the name and password for the user mrbs@localhost defined the error at the bottom is telling me that access denied to the database for user mrbs@localhost i am being really dumb but cant work it out today

I found that in our students mandatory profile I had to copy the local settings folder from my admin account that contained the google chrome settings........no other piece of software required this folder before but google like to do stuff differently. so with any luck my deployment should work. tested on 3 machines and it worked (just going to lock down extensions before I deploy) i will be glad when the remaining pcs are replaced with shiney new machines

As chrome will be used on xp i have used the adm template. When i launch chrome the pc opens another tab named welcome and chrome takes about 2 mins to show the page if i close this session of chrome and relaunch chrome the specified home page loads instantly and the welcome tab is not shown. Its really ticking me off should have taken 30 mins to sort out grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I was going to look at the preference file tomorrow Will post screenshot tomorrow

test chrome for use in school but i have come across a problem we use mandatory profiles for students and when the student logs on chrome always does the first run sequence even though i have done that in the profile. this happens every time the user logs in i have the adm template and configured like i want it. can someone point me in the right direction. i have changed in profile done the first run as administrator what am i missing
