Canva Websites? That is that we do, easy to maintain - dining hall staff make the changes and click 'publish' and it goes live on the displays. Whilst you could use a device such as a Raspberry Pi to load the webpage we use Trilby TV.

Similar situation here. We have been looking at trying to deploy it with PowerShell via InTune however the only way we can seem to get it to work is by the user running the PowerShell script - which we block.

We were in a similar situation where some rooms had Microsoft display adapters, some had EShare and then other meeting rooms had the built in of whatever screen was in there. We moved every room to ViVi so every room has just 1 app to use. It is Platform agnostic so works with Windows, iOS, Chrome OS etc, simple to deploy and manage. We run the devices over PoE and the quality is very good. It isn't the cheapest solution, however we have found that uniformity across the school means that most teachers just use wireless casting now and don't dock their device so it is heavily utilised.

We used Papercut MF with print deploy and then PapercutMF & Printix for the past year. It worked well (Printix is great) However we have now moved to Uniflow Online as it was much cheaper than Printix+Papercut. Papercut definitely has more features but we didn't use most of them. With Uniflow, Staff and students can now send to 1 print queue and collect at any sites printer, basic reporting etc but functional.

Secondary with Sixth Form ~ 650 students. MFD/Production Machines Black & White (per side) £0.0019 Colour (per side) £0.014 Desktop Printer Black & White (per side) £0.0065 A4 & A3 (and all other sizes) have the same cost per click. Students are limited to something like £8 a month and staff have unlimited but assigned to cost centres for reporting. As most devices cost the same as there is no different prices to use the high specification devices in the reprographics room.

Device policies are where you want to be as others have said. We've got 5 IT rooms & 4 sets of laptops as Intune shared and they work well. We have no local AD. Devices between staff and students used to have lots of different settings and configs but now aren't really any different except student devices just have a little less access to the settings menu. We deploy core apps to all devices and then if staff need anything else they use the company portal on their surface to install what they need.

We've had lots of issues with our Pro 8/9's too. Camera crashes and sometimes even a full restart, removal of driver etc won't fix it. Only with the built in camera, external webcams are not affected and can also happen when using the basic camera app in windows. We were given a step by step wiping process to follow by Microsoft and that kind of worked but it still happens sometimes so haven't really got to the bottom of it.

We don't use Sophos but still having the same issue even after the senso update with NETio.sys - I was hoping the WFP driver would fix our issues too, but Bitdefender have fully looked into for a few weeks and confirmed it is nothing to do with their AV.

We use Bodet Harmonys but don't use their speakers. We use the Harmony's line adapter (PoE device with an AUX out) connected to a 100v amplifier then onto in ceiling speakers (which are about £15 each). The only thing you loose is zone control, but this can be achieved with 3-4 harmonys line adapters + multi zone amplifiers so you can say have 1 zone for classrooms, 1 zone for corridors etc.

Yes, you can use Hyper Backup to backup to an S3 storage instance (it can take a while just FYI) I'm not sure about if the device dies - we have multiple devices that replicate in addition to offloading so are not reliant on 1 device. I am sure you can export the device configuration within the settings.

We purchased some MR42's off eBay as we had long delivery times on our new AP's. You need to make sure they specifically say they are UNCLAIMED otherwise they will be tied to someone else's dashboard. MR licences are universal so can be assigned to any model. It worked well for us to bridge the gap. D

+1 for Meraki - it is a really solid setup

We had an old network which I inherited. Servers running 2012, poor GPO configuration, lots of 'patches' over the years. There was an expectation that IT wouldn't work and would be unreliable. I will say, the move to the 'cloud' is rarely going to be a cost saving.

We are full cloud with W11 / Intune and it has resolved so many issues for us and would never want to go back to legacy on prem/GPO. You have to completely rethink your IT services from the ground up and ditch the legacy systems where possible
