About Simes1982

  1. Hi. I have been using Biostore ID manager since I started my job 2.5 years ago to upload student biometric finger prints. Now all of a sudden I get the error - 'Insufficient permissions for this operation' whenever I try to delete or scan a new biometric. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you
  2. Hi there. I am looking at using Xibo. What devices have you successfully used for this? Thank you
  3. I looks like XIBO charge now
  4. They need to automatically change menus on a daily basis
  5. Ah. Looks like it isn't compatible with raspberry pi
  6. Interesting I will take a look. Thank you! - - - Updated - - - This sounds cool. I will have a look into it. Thank you
  7. Ah yes I was looking for a free solution that someone might be using in their school.
  8. Hi. We have four screens in our diner/canteen that display menus that change daily for breakfast, break time and lunch. I am currently using posterbooking.com to display them but their schuduling system is not updating automatically and their customer service is terrible. This requires me to update the screens manually 3 times a day remotely using Raspberry Pi connect (the screens are connected to a raspberry pi each). I am just wondering what solutions you have in place for displaying menus? Scheduling is a must as the menus change daily. Thank you
  9. Hi. Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately the ISP informed us that it will only block YouTube in it's entirety
  10. Hi. YouTube is normally blocked in our school via the ISP. We have teachers wanting to use it for education purposes, Seneca uses Youtube videos on their website. I am looking for a method for teachers to control access to youtube in individual classrooms. Did anyone have a similar problem in their school? Thank you
  11. Hi. I am in a similar boat. We have all removable storage blocked. Which one in the list is the Microbit ID. Was it set to allow by hardware ID?
  12. Hi. Our IT teachers would like to use the BBC Microbits in their lessons. The USB drives all have to be locked for security and safeguarding reasons. I know there is a way of unlocking certain devices in group policy by hardware ID. The problem is, I can't seem to find the hardware ID of the Microbit as it doesn't show in device manager. Has any one else had a similar problem? Thank you
  13. Hi. I need to provide a solution for students to carry out BTEC course work in School. Students accounts give access O365 Onedrive, teams email etc.We use Active directory and group policy to control accounts. The BTECs need to be worked on for a limited amount of hours in allotted classroom sessions only. They are not allowed to access any other time. They are also not allowed to use the internet. Currently students can access their onedrive and email from home or from elsewhere at any time. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with anything similar and has a solution. Thank you
  14. Hi. I am an IT technician in a school that wants to carry out controlled assessments. All staff and students store their work on OneDrive. We use active directory for accounts. We want to find a way to limit the student access to their assessments as they cannot work on them outside a set amount of hours. The work also needs to be easily accessed by the teacher. Are there any IT professionals out there that are working in schools that have had to do something similar? What was your solution? Thank you
