Quite a few :(

IEP3. Dreadful. Whinged when the date was set to US standard. Then when I changed it to UK standard in Windows, it wiped all the records because the dates were the wrong standard. What **** wrote that.

Report Assist : Same reason as others have reported.

Junior Librarian.NET - MLS want shooting for that ridiculous waste of time.

Abacus Evolve stuff : Some of the most unnecessarily long winded installation methods I've ever seen in software.

For those of you looking to get away from IEP Writer I can recommend IEP Pro from Blue Hills. Compared to IEP Writer it's the dogs.... ;)

I'm pretty sure I was on a training course recently with somebody from that company.

If your school is going to go down this road then you have my symphany!

If we're gonna name and shame then 1st prize belongs to 'Targeter' a poorly written MS Access database for producing pupil reports. This piece of crud had my old data manager in tiers on a regular basis.

I'm intrigued to know what's up with target tracker. On said course they managed to get it working pretty easy using the MSI.

Wait till you start using it "in the real world" not in the world of Target Tracker then you'll find out what's wrong and how much time you'll spend resolving problems, getting the thing to run/install on your network, getting fobbed off by their "support" people and generally getting throughly cheesed off! :(

Currently CrazyTalk 5 Pro.

It requires an internet connection during install, a separate license key per station, and then their blasted install validation .DLL crashes and removes the product.

Six days later and their tech support are still blaming the PC / OS install even though I've tried this on different PC's.

i was told by my reseller that they can combine the serial numbers into one so you can deploy it.

saying that the reseller went out of business

we bought 30 copys and i installed on every teaching station (have a guess how many times it has been used).........................ZERO what a waste of money.

Digi Blue.

has to use the same USB port every time otherwise it has to be reinstalled (manually) then you have to go round each pc with the camera because the software doesn't hold the drivers...

2.1 and 3 have signed drivers so can be installed by a user and 2.1 can be script installed 3 msi deployed and have save location moved somewhere useful

I'd second SimpleSi on Black Cat Supertools - particularly PawPrints, Fresco and Turtle but also add a non Supertools it being Designer, I cringe when ta class starts using it - just waiting for the problems to start to roll.

When we had it, Macromedia Contribute- Godawful piece of crap. I concur with the opinions of most of the other software already mentioned.

Heh - love it dos_box

As for Promissor ALAN Testing, I've managed to actually get this working on our network (finally) in preparation for tests on friday... Standard CC3 deployable package, no permissions errors or anything!

Still hate it though.

Our alcatel omnivista management program for the phone system.

java based, unintuitive piece of rubbish, constant crashes and cryptic errors.

I agree here it is an awful bit of software, it doesn't like windows server 2008 or vista/win 7 so i have a virtual xp machine running to make it work.

I've got CorelDRAW! 2.0 installed at home for amusement value:D

That's the version BEFORE the wysiwyg editor, where you get a wireframe to edit and a wysiwyg preview rendered next to it...

Eee them were't days:)

When we had it, Macromedia Contribute- Godawful piece of :censored:. I concur with the opinions of most of the other software already mentioned.

Ahhh - I've encountered this.

It inspired the following email:

Heres a nice mystery for you - one that'd even have the likes of Poirot and Miss Marple confused (although that'd mainly be because Poirot is Belgian and Miss Marple being an OAP is unlikely to be computer literate!)

In a certain school in deepest darkest per.. err... england there was a technician who was asked to install adobe contribute, and to access the website that contribute was needed to edit he was furnished a golden key.

He had long ago been given this key by the creator himself (of the website, that is!), and as he did not need it kept it safe from the red queen's men via a set of security policies allowing them to see where it was located but never obtain it for themselves.

Finally requiring a use for the key he ventured past the guards and retrieved what he was sure was the real deal but alas! It seems Indiana Jones had heard of this golden treasure and had replaced it with a corrupt copy - and lets face it, nothing can stop Indy - not even a :censored: sequel starring Shia Labeouf!

Realising this - the technician asked for another copy from the creator and was granted one by the divine right of email. Alas - this has also been intercepted and swapped en-route! Probably by either the Nazis or cult of EMBC.

Tentatively the technician risked angering the creator by asking for another copy (all the while hoping it was the Nazis as they were easier to deal with!), but this was also swapped for a fake copy - it dawned that this was being perpetrated by the insidiuos cult of EMBC and the technician began to lose all hope of ever retrieving the golden key.

Salvation occured however in the creator, noticing the technician's plight posted a link to the key - a neutral location where the Cult of EMBC did not have sway. Making his way to this location the technician was re-united with his long lost key, and he was yet again able to grant access to edit the website.

The End.

...anddd WMPlayer!

Ah yeah I feel you. I think it's particularly funny when you install it, open the sample music that comes with Windows, it doesn't play it, throws up an error and then crashes. I laugh all the way to the VLC installer...

Anyway I hate the drivers for the Roland CAMM machine in DT.
