Hi all, We currently have a network start menu (win2k8r2/Win7) for all users residing on a file server in one of our main shares (accessed by a shortcut, not folder redirection, which I'm happy with). For various reasons I need to move the start menu share to another location, and thought about having it replicate. So my question is, is it worth putting it in my netlogon folder? Or setup DFS? If DFS, can anyone give some guidance as I’ve not set it up before. Thanks, Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi All, Been a while since I posted here..... I have an HP SAS LTO 4 drive, that I've taken out of an autoloader (it is basically the same as a standalone drive but with no fascia on the front). It currently has firmware on it that basically makes it think it is in an autloader. I've downloaded the firmware for the standalone version becuase I'm convinced they are the same drive, just with different firmware on them, but the HP Tape Tools software isn't letting me flash with the standalone firmware. Anyone know of any ways around this, to make the drive / tape tools think it can accept the standalone firmware? Thanks very much

Hi all, I'm looking to deploy C# 2013 to our Win7 computer labs, I think I read somewhere that there were issues with installing just one app, as opposed to the whole VS suite? I just want C# and not C++ or VB, etc. Has anyone done this before, and can you provide any guidance for things to avoid or potential problems? Using a combination of MDT and sccm, so silent install would be preferred method. Also, is it possible to slipstream/integrate Visual Studio 2013 update 1 into the main installer? Can't seem to find anything useful on the web... Thanks very much

Hi all, Does anyone have any idea how to set file associations globally? So far I can only manage to set them for the currently logged on user. Very annoying when installing applications, and the logging in as a different user.... Many thanks

Sorry guys, not had a chance to come back to this this week, as had a few things hitting the fan.... I'm going to try towards the end of the week again. @lordasb Thanks for the offer of assistance. Will sort out some credentials for you to test with, not sure why 809 is appearing as it works fine with pptp, just not l2tp. The isa server is fully patched as of a month or 2 ago. Will try again from a client and get the logs off that too. @PRicho PPTP and L2TP work fine internally.

Hi everyone, Looking for some assistance please! I have an ISA 2006 server on which I have setup L2TP/IPSec vpn connections with PSK. Problem is, no clients are managing to connect, they get error 809. As far as I know all the relevant ports are open (maybe someone could list all the ports needed so I can confirm this? Hi all, Have a query with regards to printer security permissions on our 2003 domain... I have a printer that I need to deny access to. Basically kids printing to it from other areas of the school (should only be the computers in that room that can print to it). This is what I've done: added computer accounts that shouldn't print to it to a security group. Added that security group to the printer, with a deny 'print' tick box. However, I was still able to add the printer and print to it from one of those PCs! Where am I going wrong? Thanks!

We use the samsung screens too. And after finally receiving the correct files from samsung, have MagicInfo-i working really well. Scheduling reliable and all... I think magicinfo-i is the latest incarnation, and you are probably eligable to just get and install that. That's my 2p worth...

Via the LEA Proxy. 'Direct' Connection is not possible. Yes, can ping the upstream proxy, by name and IP. Putting the IP of the proxy has made no difference.

Hi, Desperate help needed here please!! We have ISA 2006 Standard. Up til now it has been running perfectly... This morning I came in to find that internet access was down, with the following error in the Alerts/Monitoring page of ISA configuration every 10 mins or so: "Routing (Chaining) Failure" Whilst in the Application Log at the same time, the following error appears: Event ID: 14130. The Web Proxy filter detected that the upstream proxy server x is not available. During all this, access to the web is unavailable. Now i know the upstream proxy (our county's firewall) is working, as I have a single machine that connects ok (not via the ISA server). Checked all cabling, and all seems fine. Various searches on the web has not really turned anything useful up. Rebooted server but to no avail. Can anyone help please?!?!
