I thought it was time to have the annual conversation about Tesco vouchers. Are we to open a book on how DHL will cope with collection from the thousands of schools taking part?

Or is nobody else but me responsible for such things?

We put a request to have 5 bags collected, they turned up and would only take 1...

I haven't received any bags yet and my collection day is 26th :( not that I've finished counting them yet.

The janitor at one of the primary schools I look after was sitting in his room counting them a couple of weeks ago.

The school is quite a small one, maybe 150 kids at the most and he had counted so far well over 40,000 vouchers.

Wow that's some collection!!!! Is there perhaps no other supermarket for anyone to shop in?

I don't have the letter to hand anymore - its on my desk at work. But I think the deadline for DHL collections have now passed. You need to organise postage yourself now if you want to get them sent off before this years deadline.

From where the school is the nearest one is actually Asda...

I counted 18,000 using scales last week thinking we were done. Since then I've counted an additional 2,000 by hand and still more are coming in! I'm getting sick of the sight of the bloody things.

Looking forward to the 25th when DHL are due.

We're getting a Digital Camera and a Camcorder this year, plus a few bits for food tech.

How many people actually advertised you're collecting vouchers? I sent a letter home to parents at the start and then nothing and we have over 20,000 vouchers. The school's not on the best location for putting up that big banner they sent at the start.

We had the same thing - Apparently it a "courier issue" with them being backside-retentive... a call to the helpline and they get them out again the next day to collect the remaining bags.

We managed to get 26,000. Problem is, I'm not really a fan of most of the technical stuff available in the catalogue (RM), so we're using the vouchers for pe/outdoor equipment.

I also find the value of the vouchers varies considerably. If you work out the voucher cost for a certain item, then compare it to another, it is massively different. Just annoys me :)

Got 3 Asus EEE PCs last year, and last week found time to get them to work and on the network :)

It's all we can do to stop them buying stuff with these evil things. If I see an inkjet printer from some no-name company I WILL throw it in the bin and likewise I'm not going to install their single license of some lame RM software "on the network". Even the CDRs they have on there are rubbish. Gahh!

Fingers crossed they've gone for the bean bags and pencil crayons :)

You can't complain really, it's not costing you anything and there's bound to be something in the catalogue that's useful for someone.

We use the postal scales - reckon 180 grammes equals 500 vouchers.

Might need to resort to that one - thanks.

Yes I logged in and booked the collection date - thought that bags would arrive before DHL did

Counted, bagged, order form completed and ready for collection. So efficient of me.

(And my colleagues!)

OK gloat taken note of. Just 'cos I have "other things" to do with my time. My boss wants enough for that rather large Mac :( He hasn't any idea how it works, must be relying on me - hence my previous posts about how to integrate one into a Windows network. If we get enough vouchers guess what I'll be doing in the Autumn!
