Popular Post Dos_Box Posted June 2, 2009 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Well, it's been 4 years in the making, and here we are at the position where EduGeek needs full time care and attention. In the beginning I would spend half an hour answering email and dealing with site issues in the evening. Now it often takes until 1am, and that is simply not the way to go on. So yesterday I handed in my notice, and as of tomorrow I take occupancy of an office on Prestons docklands (I still have 2 months to work though ) and begin to move kit in. I've been planning this for a while now, but had to be sure that EduGeek can fund itself to a sufficient level to support not only myself, but it's day to day running costs, conferences and BETT too. This is no small amount BTW, and I beg you not to send me emails asking me just how much EduGeek turns over as I've had a few of these recently and find them a bit rude, as most of the deals we do are commercial in confidence, and I simply won't answer them. Anyway, we are now good to go. We have some major companies and organisations battering down our doors and it is a full time job keeping them all in check. With all of this activity we are in for an interesting few months/years, but please be assured that this is YOUR community, and we hold YOUR interests above all. We won't spam you, sell your details or invade your privacy or despoil the forums in any way. Remember, this place is my home too And if you were at the conf, an office cam may be in the offing, as per your suggestions! Edited June 2, 2009 by ChrisH 85
powdarrmonkey Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 And if you were at the conf, an office cam may be in the offing, as per your suggestions! ^_^ This is great news but understandably a big step for you, so it's great that you're prepared to put your livelihood on the line to keep the site (and concept) developing so rapidly.
Butuz Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 It's a big step. I'd call it Edugeek 2.0! Good luck! Butuz

Dos_Box Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Thank you, but it is a community effort, and without you, the mods and the admins (especially Shaun for being a net codign genius) we would not be here today. With me doing theis full time I also hope to get more things organised for you guys in the future, particularly in Scotland and the south (London) all being well.
localzuk Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 south (London) all being well. The south has more than 1 side you know I kid
contink Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Aye... just to add another set of Congratulations to the others (even though my typo typing required retyping of congrats about 15 times and not a drop of drink!). Doubtless we will be behind you and hopefully not pushing you towards the brink of the abyss... Best of luck
leco Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 May I add my best wishes to everyone else's. As someone has already said - we are all behind you and beside you, but very rarely in front of you DB:) I'm tempted to burst into song ... We're all in this together ... but I won't.
