BBQ with family, then drinks with friends, off to the town party with fireworks, and lastly pass out in bed!
kesomir Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Same as webman, only I'm doing it twice as HARD!
CSNM-Carl Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Nothing planned, apart from 2 weeks worth of bookkeeping to complete the VAT return
chrbb Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Fancy dress - pub = (drink + dance x ?) - walk home with mate and mates all in varying degrees of fancy dressness:D
john Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I've been informed that I have been spending too much time with my friends this holiday and not enough with my family so have been barred from going out with my friends and have to spend it at home with my parents, then about 11pm we will be going to the local pub where my sister is working that night, by which time she will have finished work and we will celebrate New Year at the local pub, with her and the locals no doubt (so that will involve a few of my neighbours bugging me about over-due prices and advise for IT kit then!) as well as a couple of people I went to school and college with who live in the village. TBH, I'd far rather be celebrating it with a few close friends who have helped me out this year with things than my family which I have done every year since I can remember and I did spend all of the main Christmas time with them IE Christmas Eve (bout 80% of the day), all Christmas Day and all Boxing Day, so I thought time with my friends to celebrate the new year when we all have nice things to look forward to would be good, but not allowed to this year Hey ho, sad isn't it that im being barred from doing nice things when I'm old enough to do my own thing!
powdarrmonkey Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Same as every other year, I have no plans at all (except for getting my voice back, and generally not being sick any longer).
contink Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Home with wife and we've got a friend of hers coming over who is starting out doing sports therapy, reihki massage (spelling?), etc... having been made redundant from her job of 8 years. Should be a good laugh
EduTech Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Dont know nothing yet so might hit the town and hopefully get back home safely
Messa Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Supporting Customers and alcohol! (not at same time ofc )
dezt Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Be hitting the town from about 5:30 onwards, i'll just have to remember my address as i've moved since the last time i went out, and i wouldn't want to turn up at the ex-girlfriends house thinking i still lived there drunk, that would be a bad start to the new year......
crc-ict Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Well, not exactly an exciting New Year here... Working today until 2-3pm, then got to go home and start cabling my newly redecorated home office - got 10 network outlets to install. Then get everything back in to the office having finished decorating. After that, the evening may well involve a few drinks at home! Then tomorrow I start on decorating the bedroom. If only I'd had leave left to take over this Christmas - would've been so much easier!
Optics Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 A night at the casino with the wife and friends. First time in eight years we've managed to get a babysitter on NYE \o/
jcollings Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Doing very little - not a fan of new year tbh and being t total I'll not be getting drunk! I seem to have worked in education so long that Sept 1st seems more like new year and a fresh start each time it comes round! To all those out partying though - have fun. Hope there isn't too much
chrbb Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 @John to parents! Our sons are out with us tonight mainly because it's at our local where their cricket club congregate, but the choice is theirs if they get a better offer they'll be off:) Be a sulky, miserable, monosymbolic 'teenager' tonight to make sure you don't get asked to stay next new year.
silver_hippo Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I'm not doing anything. My girlfriend wants to go out but I don't see the point as it is a small island and all the pubs will be packed!! Not sure what to do at all! :S
PEO Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 New mountain bike arrived today (Giant trance 1). been out of the mountainbike scene for about 4 year now and have decided to get back into it again. So, plan is to tune it up today, go to a party tonight with a 4 pack and ride over blakey ridge tomorrow.
matt40k Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Day off, fridge full of cider, xbox, missus working half day.... sorted.
joe90bass Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Day off, fridge full of cider, xbox, missus working half day.... sorted. Now that sounds like a plan Usually I have a gig, but even music has been hit by the credit crunch so no plans thsi year - other than helping the missus prepare portfolios of work for her school inspection on Jan 12th
