Not with our school, once finance opened their own account, and finance director find we can get parts far cheaper, he was happy

School have never done it directly but I have ordered items from ebay and then put in a claim for the money.

Same here. Usually for obscure parts that can't be easily sourced elsewhere.

I use my own account, but have a school credit card so makes it easier. The only stipulation I've been told that I have to have it delivered directly to the school and not home. It's been vital for getting things like laptop keyboards of older devices in the past.

Sometimes, though have to bear in mind that chances of a VAT invoice/number are low. Even bearing that in mind, it's often cheaper than other sources - if not the only place for odd bits.

Yes - we have a school eBay account for buying from eBay. It's a pretty necessary place for a lot of our obscure parts, only buy it now things though.

My previous school didn't allow purchasing from eBay.

I think we as a school got burnt a few times with people buying rubbish from eBay so unless it's an absolute emergency for an obscure part for old equipment then purchases from eBay are not allowed where we are.

Yes - but all request will go through finance and ladies will check if this is a good buy for school.

We had a teacher that wanted to buy a second hand video camera, because she like exact model - but quality sold on ebay was very bad and these were very expensive as well. They were not available in retail.

They decline to bay it.

I usually buy laptops keyboards, LCD screens for laptops and sometimes chargers.

I wouldn't say we do it regularly, but yes, our finance team are quite happy to order on Ebay for us using our business account.

yes, we purchase most of our HP, Lenovo, SFF Power supplies from eBay. During lockdown we were able to purchase numerous old visualizers for cheap. (as the HUE ones are tiny toys)

When I was in the schools we used it regular. Managed to get a cheap of Cisco 10gig SFP for £10 each!

I never understood why schools don’t like eBay but then Amazon seems to be ok?

I buy alot from eBay and sell stuff for school...usually at a loss with the postage.

There's nectar points available too which I know isn't allowed so no one should ever do that.
