Hi there My trust is in the stages of planning for me to take over first primary school in our trust (we have one secondary, and 2 primaries) This will happen next March We will need to hand a notice of termination to the exisiting support compnay but was wondering is there a check list of things I need to do and establish service and reposonsibiltes with SLTs For example, how does one manage handover from exisiting support company? Hi there I have GAM6 running on a server and would like to install GAM7 on a new server, is it ok to set up a new project and oauth for it? Instrcutions on Google is not very clear, and when I tried to copy the oauth and json files into GAM7 directory that didn twork. Any advice appreciated! Cheers Wil

Hi I have tried to ask Google support with no joy Our teachers want AI assist disabled within Google Colab globally for students, but I'm hitting a brick wall since Google tells me just to disable Colab completely, seems a bit sledgehammer solution that wont solve the issue. Have anyone found a way of doing this? I was trying to think whether I can block the API call at the Firewall level? Cheers!

Hi there.. Been a problem that bugged me for 3 exam seasons At random points, during exams, a students keyboard will stop typing, upon further investigations it looks like the machine thinks the Windows Logo key is pressed down, so typing will bring out context menus instead related to Windows + keypress A reboot solves it This happens randomly on Windows 10, Windows 11 machines, they all run ExamWritepad (latest version at the moment) and Impero client, also same brand of HP keyboards for all This issue as far as I know, only happnes with Exam machines and not occur in lessons or teacher's machines I will try and change brand of keyboard to see if maybe its down to faulty keyboards in circulation, and I have also thought about disabling Windows logo key in GPO Anyone has this occur? It might not have anything to do with ExamWritepad though! Cheers!

Interesting, one page it was indexing to is a Facebook group which I suspect has the parent's name as an active member? visiting the group it also links another page to the school website itself (although a different one) plot thickens.

I had a chat with the office. and tried the search. So when I type parents Full name' into Google, there is a link to school webpage, that contains no entries for that parents name. it's explicit name that makes that school page pop up, trying just surname or a variation of spelling it does not appear I'm hoping the school office will be able to call parent soon for more details...

Hi I have a strange one. A Parent filed a complaint with her school in that when they type their name in, one of the links come up with a particular page for the school (in which their child goes) I check the page in question and there is no reference of that name. They are very concerned ref privacy. I will talk to their website host but is there any external cause for this also? cheers!

We felt that Wonde didnt have the coding options that Salamander had, plus we did have lots of issues last year when the classrooms got messed up. So far,Salamander support has been great!

Hi all; About to run GCDS for the first time live soon (we are moving away from Wonde and semi manually uploaded students to GC previously, have run through simulations and done a big tidy up..we will be using Salamander for GC mostly he Sim Sync throughs lots of entries for staff and students : Modify user 13: "[email protected]" Change org to "Students" Change stored unique identifier to "LXXXXXXXXXXXXXXp7Mg" Add 1 new aliases "[email protected]" Remove 1 existing aliases "[email protected]" I presume this is all ok (GCDS is moving existing users to specified OU, linking it to a unqiue ID and removing old alias ) Also anyway of linking staff and students to Google created groups automatically? thanks!

Ah that might be what certain teachers mean (I have conference call with head of ict to clarify ) So in your case, multi year heavy coursework classes you will setup Teams not to create a new class? If it’s not a huge number of classes reused I can work with the staff that way

Indeed The reuse post function looks fairly easy to do… Staff Using old archive classes seems counterproductive to me, makes Salamander pretty redundant if they ignore the new classes created …

Some wants to use the old archive classroom and ignore or archive the new one created by salamander, I don’t see a reason for that since Salamander will be unarchiving the proper one and teachers will have to add students or remove students manually (like kids join and live mid year?)

Hi We beginning with Salamander this year, archiving all classrooms via GAM and letting Salamander create new ones I’ve had staff asking how they merge old archive classroom material to the new ones Is there an easy way to do this selectively via batching ? Cheers!

Sorry Was smoking something when I wrote this ha ha! wasn't version 3.9 it's version 22.1.11.1608, will upgrade to latest version anyway to test. it happens randomly, so a different Exam AD account logs into the same problem laptop, it it saves 'versions' of the file ok...just certain Exam accounts

Hi still rocking 3.9.0.0 of EWP and been working flawlessly. There is only one incident today whereby autosave was saving over one copy of the backup file (i.e. no multiple backups generated) checked the config file same as other Laptops, any advice? Was thinking of just reinstalling over a new copy of EWP.
