Dose 1 (AZ): thought I’d got away with it, then very tired and achey for about 24 hours, 24 hours after jab.

Dose 2 (AZ): nothing at all - zilch

Booster (Moderna, yesterday evening): so far just a sore arm.

Looks like we are going to be shutting down a few days early here. About 35% of the pupils off and barely enough staff in to cover what is left. I have done as much prep as I could to get back into work from home mode in January if needed.

Just had an email from LCFC requiring me to pre-register to confirm that I've read the new entry regulations for future matches under Plan B and to make sure I bring along the correct documentation/Covid pass to the games.

 

No different to how they've been doing it all season then ... Proof of double jab required before you're allowed in the stadium.

That could be Leicester as that's what I've had to do.

Booked my booster for Monday 20th December

 

Was in a queue for under 5 minutes on the website. Nothing within 10 miles until January. A place 11 miles away had appointments all day on Monday and in January.

 

Bit weird but at least I'm booked in this side of Christmas and off work if I get struck down by side affects!

The reception person was clarifying everyone's Name, email address, NI # and postal address by basically shouting them back to everyone as they booked in at the desk, so anyone waiting could have gleaned all that info. on many people!

 

She did have a word with the team that gave her the jab, but who knows if anything would have changed!

From friends working in NHS, lots of the computers there are still on Windows 7 - even after ransomware attack few years back. I guess budgets are tight...

Yeah, I took the before you come back thing for granted. That’s unchanged. We had to do it in the summer. The local pharmacy was great; it was easy to get done. Testing before you go is new.

In the end, the sworn statement got resolved and the 14 days was from the point of the positive test was confirmed. The spanner in the works was 4 children, half the travellers, needing to do daily LFT's for their Pass Sanitaire. Our travel agent have been pretty weak. The change to requiring Pass Sanitaire was brought in last Friday - they didn't notify us until well after the weekend. Each test, if negative, activates the pass for 24 hours. All slots were probably already taken by unvaccinated French/EU children, but there was zero availability. A skiing holiday without a lift pass is not a skiing holiday.

 

What was really annoying is the travel companies website had a statement to not worry if we couldn't book locally in Tignes and flippantly suggested trying Bourg St. Maurice or Val D'Isere. Presumably they know how mountain travel works!!! They've done absolutely nothing to address the problem. We were in the situation of potentially having to go and having 4 kids not allowed to ski.

 

The just announced news that from this Saturday, only essential travel to France is permitted has made it all irrelevant. Your partially right in terms of family disappointment, my eldest son is going to be very disappointed. For me it's a massive pressure release.

Booked mine yesterday and every date for the next 5 days had many free slots - quite worrying for our area! Looks like we'll end up being a hotspot once again...

Actually checked her surgery's (awful - you had to download the Booster info as a Word doc) website. Basically said, "Tough luck, book your own Booster".

Still nothing in our town, despite there being 2 within a few minute's walk. However, ASDA in the next town over has slots, but only because it's a 24 hour store. You can guess the available times. Think Mme LeMarchand will have to wait until after Xmas. I can't see how the pie in the sky target can be met if it's so hard to make a booking.

The target was always to offer everyone the opportunity to be vaccinated, not to actually get people vaccinated.

 

My and my partner booked in on the day it was announced and got a slot on the 7th Jan, I'm think of re trying as a lot more recent slots have opened up near me recently

But that's what's failing: Mme LeMarchand wants to get vaccinated but she hasn't got the opportunity. Sounds like @caffrey is in the same situation, but if we lived near @riker148 we'd be fine.

No vaccination sites near me. Never has been. There is a mobile 'JabVan', but that's only vaccinates politicians and journalists.

Being on the north eastern edge of Wiltshire, it's not much of a shock. At times I was offered sessions in Reading and Cheltenham before some of the additional units in Swindon appeared.

Can any of you out there expand on this? - Omicron: Schools prepared if Covid forces online move next term.

I'm just curious if schools are actually making any preparations for this or is the BBC making something out of nothing?

We don't seem to be making any special preparations for remote learning for the start of term. We already have a staggered start for students due to the requirement to give them at least 1 LFT onsite on their return again
