Staff Surveys

Not sure if this is the right forum, but my school is looking to run a staff survey to test the effectiveness of some training. The options so far are:

 

Survey Monkey

Google Forms

 

Has anyone any comments/experience/suggestions for such a task?

We use Survey Monkey. Works well as long as it's used properly.

We have used survey monkey, Google forms and 365 version of excel. All work well really but depends on how complex you want to get. Survey monkey is probably the most powerful in terms of designing the survey.

Theres a free one called esurv.org which ive used in the past which works well.

We use Microsoft forms here, it's no were near as advanced as survey monkey for example but handles basic questionnaires.

I've used Survey Monkey and SharePoint for this before. Both worked well. Paid version of Survey Monkey is better for stats.

We generally use google forms, but then we are a GAfE school. Be mindful of what info you ask for though. Remember you are trusting this data to third parties and you may need to consider your ICO listing. Probably not an issue for a training feedback form to be honest but worth a mention I think.

Survey Monkey is used were I work, the school used the free version for awhile for surveys for staff but then when they wanted it for parents they went to the paid options (can't remember which one).

Limesurvey local install. Extremely powerful and free. Will work on a WIMP server or run up a LAMP instance. Survey setup is involved, but you get your head around the way it works you can do just about anything you ever wanted to do. All for free.

big fan of SurveyMonkey but suspect that Google Forms might be the better option for what you're trying to do. It has a Course Evaluation template ready to use.

We use ms forms. Lacks some functionality yet but it's being improved all the time.

Survey monkey is great. lots of features when creating surveys.. sometimes a bit too overwhelming though.

Lime Survey here. Have it installed on a VM machine (running under IIS, with PHP & MySQL Installed). Incredibly powerful for a freebie. Used it on loads of surveys within the school.

We use http://www.whole.school for all our surveys.

It's a manged service so we just send out survey - they assign it and then send back the results.

 

I think it's pretty cheap too.

 

They also have a big survey library that you can use which saves starting from scratch!

 

Mainly NI based but I think they now have schools in England and maybe Scotland too.

Never used Surveyminkey before to create something but I have used and would recommend Google Forms.

Our website is WordPress and we simply create forms. You can download the resultant csv file to analyse. We are doing a lot of this, also for demonstrating parental engagement in case the "men in hard hats" come to visit!

 

Start of year, staff survey on all safeguarding etc policies..

New parents, uniform supplier survey.

Full parents, Spiritual Survey (we are RC school - Diocese inspection looks for this). Etc, etc... easy

What Plugin do you use for that?

We use Gravity Forms on our current site. Have used others previously. This one uses a 'honeypot' rather than a Captcha. They all work pretty well the same way. They email each entry, so you can see it build up if you want to (we created an email of [email protected]) but the main use is downloading the csv from the website to get the full evidence/response file.

Thanks you all for your input. In the end the school went with SurveyMonkey as there were staff that had used that before.

Google form all the way if you are a GAfE school

If you are already on Office 365 them "Forms" is really fast and simple and answers are not anonymous as staff all have a O365 email account. I have to admit that I initially though that there was no checkbox option and was outraged but you just toggle the "Multiple Answers" Switch on.
