Yeah, the trust I work for has NetSupport DNA, as well as a thrid party company doing web filtering.

Where is Sims folder on the computers C drive? "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)"? When the school I worked at moved to 64bit OS's my boss got me to install sims to the "program files" folder to allow sims to use more Ram (i think) sorry again if this doesn't help

I agree with you, if other users from other schools are not effected it most likely not a server issue then. The computers that they are using have you increased the RAM in them to see if that fixes it? As @Ictman1978 suggested it maybe the best temporarily ask the staff having the issue if they can close Sims down every hour to see if this makes the issue happen less as it could be that Sims is not releasing RAM space after it has finished with it. Sorry if this has been no help

Hi @DWakely, Does this error happen at random or at certain times in the day? Dos the Sims server itself have busy spikes around the same time as the crashes?

Hi @e-class, though I have not had any experience with i3 I have used the BenQ interactive screens and from what I looked up on Youtube and it seems the i3 are more user friendly than the BenQ from a quick look. Sorry if this is not of much help.

What the school I work at does is: - - Large flat screen PC at the front of the room - Staff all have laptops with windows 10 on, with the member of staff running the meeting casting to the TV - Using teams if someone is off site during the meeting with their mic muted and webcam and only unmuting when need to talk. - PC plugged in to run meetings on the TV if room is booked out by third party. SO all in all very similar to what you are thinking. Hope this helps

IF you have lesson monitoring software like Netsupport or Impero you could block .SWF files for students and tell teachers if they need to uses .SWF files for lessons it can be unblocked

One web Filter I have used in the past is Fortinet's Fortigate. Was Okay to use, only moved away from it as the school I worked at became part of a trust and dropped it during the move over.

To stop them playing the from their emails you could get your exchange to quarantine any email message that has a .SWF file attached Edit: this will stop any new email with the attachments at least, older emails you would have to clear out by hand or is if the exchange has any house keeping option

Not sure if this would work for you but could you not just have the wall you project on to painted white? It would be a cheap option unless it needs to be a movable one (sorry if this doesn't help)

The school I work at does not have it on display, there are four or five staff that can access from their computers in their office but most of the time I'm asked to get stuff off for them.

Ask them about how they would put together a class, how they would deal with the basic problems (mice/keyboards not working, passwords, etc.). Ask about what software they used in the past and ask if you used a VLE.

May be if it was Mac Ram

I think for me was a fidget cube, used it once now it's sitting in a draw some where in my house.

From my experience some of the students "forget" their passwords just to skip about half hour to visit the me, then the toilet, then some friends in other lessons, then check their food credit and then slow get back to lesson. I normal only do password resets on request of an e-mail from a member of staff to try and stop the students leaving the lessons. With the IT teachers they have access to Impero and able to change passwords that way as those lessons need them to do it more. Other steps we take is to write down the name of the student and the name of the teacher from that lesson and at then end of each week e-mail the list the SLT in charge of IT, then they will have a chat with the teacher(s) and ask them to send e-mail requests if a teacher is on the list a couple of times and if a student is on the list to much that student would get a detention.

You could try a different computer with the smartboard to see if it is something the computer is doing.

Do you have a different USB3 device to hand you can try to see if it just the HD or all USB3 devices?

CCTV works for me as I need to check damaged hot spots ever lesson. Time consuming but helps hopefully when you catch them the rest of the students take note.
