  1. Hi all, Long time lurker, not quite first time posting. I safeguarding lead brought this to our attention and I'm trying to find out if other schools or Trusts have issued any guidance or advice to its staff or modified their websites etc to reduce the risk. UK schools should remove pupils’ online photos as AI blackmail threat grows, say experts | Internet safety | The Guardian We are having a meeting on Monday around a response for example, take images side on, group shots, at a distance if possible, use image on websites more focused on an activity not the person. Thanks in advance.
  2. All virtual for us with 2 DC per site (secondaries) and 1rodc per primary, with a plan to put a couple in Azure.
  3. Hi all, We have recently installed/upgraded our RDS infrastructure to Server 2022. Previously OneDrive and Office365 (apps) would signin automatically when the user logged on, now they do not. 1. We have not altered any GPOs that are applied and the same polices work our Windows 11 devices with the same user(s). 2. We are running OneDrive for Business /AllUsers - updated to latest version 3. SSO works for all other devices on this site just not our RDS servers 4. Servers is AAD registered For OneDrive, if we sign in manually it ignores any of our GPO settings forcing the sync of Documents, Desktops and Pictures and prompts the users to configure all of these settings. Has anyone come across this before? Mark
  4. I'd also be interested as they are our DfE Free School IT provider.
  5. We use SMTP Sendgrid for Bromcom and psfinancials as we kept getting caught by Microsoft's outbound spam filters, mainly when sending out BACS confirmations once a week for 19 schools. Not had an issue since moving
  6. Thank you. That's partly what I was after A1 will have a hard limit of 100gb does this limit disappear for a user given the A3 student benefit license. Limits are set to the default 1024gb at the moment. I'm aware they don't add to the storage pool as they are not paid for licenses. Worried about some students requiring a paid for A3 to store more than 100gb of data if that makes sense. Mark
  7. Random question, does anyone know what happens to students licensed with the "Microsoft A3 Student Benefit License" we have a number of students over the 100Gb limit but have the above license. Does anyone know if they can save up to 1tb? They are mainly art, graphics and media students. Can't find the answer anywhere and our ovs and csp provider haven't really got me a answer. Thanks in advance. Mark

  9. We have been using them for past 2 years and have found their support to be amazing and at a really good price if you go for a multi-year deal. Coming from LA support (with for 20+ years) our admin staff did have some major reservations but now I don't think they'd go back. Which MIS are you looking at, we're with them for SIMS however we're about to make the move to Bromcom while still maintaining their support.
  10. @Oaktech - Thank you that would be amazing. I can also confirm if needed Serif have provided us with a license key - obviously I'll remove this if you do require proof. I have emailed Serif but no reply as yet and this forms part of a summer project kicking off next week. Drop me a PM if you need anything from me.
  11. Hi, Just so you know we do have license for this software. Our head of IT has spoken to serif directly and they very kindly provided us with a x8 license key (as we had been running x6) we have confirmation from Serif. We can download the exe off their legacy website but it doesn't contain the stuff required to make a network package (e.g. netcopy). I do need x8 the original CD or RM package stuff if anyone can. @Oaktech - is this the exe you can download from their website? If it is I'm afraid is doesn't appear to contain the bit I need thx
  12. Good morning, This is a bit of longshot but does anyone have a the original RM cc3 package CD for Serif WebPlus x8. We've mislaid ours and it's proving (becuase of age) very difficult to get hold of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mark
  13. Good morning all, We recently upgraded our PSF installation from v4 to v6 and have now found the system does not appear to work over DirectAccess and it did previously (v4). The issue is simply the system cannot contact the licensing server on port 777 - it can connact the SQL server which is ont he same server to get a list of users so we know it does kind of work. I have run the following powershell command tnc {SEFVERNAME} -Port:777 from the remote client and get a successful ipv6 result. Does this mean the new PSF application is no longer ipv6 aware and if so this feels a very backwards step? If this is the case would an Always On VPN be the answer? Any help would be appreciated as I will have the MAT finance team asking me for a resolution by Thursday morning.

  17. Dang it, someone beat me to it. We use Salamander to achieve this exact thing, the call them "{SchCode} Teachers Of {Surname} {Forname} ({Form})" this pulls anyone who teaches the student or is involved via the pastoral structure.
  18. We had this issue and found this resolved it for us: (If a user from a child domain or same level domain or parent domain has an issue with access denied) 1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers on any Domain Controller from the remote domain in which the users belong to. 2. Add the Computer Name of the Remote Desktop Gateway to the RAS and IAS Servers group.
  19. Hi all, A concern has be raised by a member of our staff who recently visited another school for open evening. All the students' books where out with name, year, form and depending on the subject personal information such as what they did over the summer etc. Just after a sound board really is this something we should address before our open evening? cheers

  21. Good afternoon, I've got a query, I'm even sure this is possible. We have an Office365 tenant for our trust and with that OneDrive for Business (OfB), we recently (Monday) opened a new school and several of our users have been migrated to the news schools OU in ADUC, been given new user areas, etc, this bit works fine. However under GDPR they no longer have the right to see any data relating to their old school and they have a lot of documents under the "Shared with me" section in Office365 relating to their old school. Is there a powershell script that can list all the documents shared with this user so we can inform the owner to stop sharing or even better to stop sharing all documents with this particular user....? In retrospect it may have been better to create a brand new user for them, it's to late for that now tho! Regards Mark
  22. Hi, We've been working on Always-On VPN over the summer at one of our sites. We've got the user tunnel nailed down and are happy with it overall, it works, you can browse shares and load school based programs, all good. However we have not had much luck with the device tunnel element, were running Server 2016 as our AlwaysOn and Windows 10 1803 for clients. No matter what we do we cannot get this part to work so the user is always logged on with Cashed Credentials and for some reason the user home drive fails to map (this might have been resolved now as we also use Offline Files as a backup. We've been following this guide and hope someone might be able to help us with the XML https://directaccess.richardhicks.com/2017/12/11/always-on-vpn-windows-10-device-tunnel-step-by-step-configuration-using-powershell/ just to check what we've got and done. These are not our real IP addresses the bits in {} are the values we've entered. vpn.{OurDomain.whatever} IKEv2 Certificate SplitTunnel true {10.200.0.1 - Site 1 Range} {19 - Site 2 Length} {10.100.0.1 - Site 2 IP Range} {19 - Site 2 Length} {10.200.0.1,10.100.0.1} true true true Any help or pointers at this point in the holiday would be great. We don't have the option of going to Direct Access as we've had the ports open for Always On VPN and our IP has a maximum time od 20 working days to implement.... Thank you to anyone who helps with this, I'm getting rather worried now.... Mark
  23. We've always used Lanschool https://www.lenovosoftware.com/lanschool/. Staff like it, and simple to setup/install.
  24. We finally figured out the reason ours stopped working... taken from out helpdesk ticket: Hope this helps someone.
  25. Sorry to hijack, we have the issues described above and customise the tile and redirect the appdata folder, startmenu, documents, pictures etc. We found our desktops are fine running 1703 when we upgrade a machine to 1709 it freezes or use a mobile device such as a laptop... RE: Metdown, this has been happening to us on and off since September.
