  1. 1x11 derailleur Shimano Steps on my Raleigh Mustang Elite works for me. Best I’ve had, and good range. Ideal when you’re the wrong side of 50 (& 60!)
  2. We bought a Screwfix compressor, air gun and extension hose. Wheel it round on a trolley and just take the hose into the room. High pressure blow of PCs and projectors. All the usual H&S precautions with compressed air. The other issue is that some/many/most cans use highly flammable propellant (or used to) so don’t blow live equipment with a flame thrower!!! Check if you do use them. In reality, the compressor is long term cheapest option.
  3. Combination of room, type/age and asset number.... T on the end for teachers PC In the appropriate OU in AD, and also grouped in Impero, or whatever product you use
  4. We use ‘room’+’model/year’+asset So A12-Dell19-12345 T on the end for staff pc, and you can easily see age of your estate by rooms
  5. We stream Sims to our RD gateway.... so could also use internally, fine on mac
  6. We do the same for reports (because staff don’t like Profiles), and set up to three paragraphs. How many teachers don’t understand what a paragraph is? They will often split sen tences across two paragraphs! And they’re dropping basic English and Maths........
  7. Installed and checked (on the 13th - leap of faith,). Seems ok, done my usual basic checks, and remote checked a number of workstations via Impero. And FMS.
  8. Don’t you just set registration as NCC, non class code? We’ve done this for years. The assigned teacher is then picked up from the Pastoral Structure
  9. Rock Hall Ltd Advertise on eBay, but also own website and vat registered etc. Always been good for us
  10. So you shouldn’t use WFWG3.11 on floppy discs any more then? Just think how quickly that would boot on today’s PCs......
  11. We use Doddle for KS3 in Y7/8 and GCSEpod for KS4 in Y9/10/11
  12. We used these but had to cut a cable port in the vanity panel as the one in the top fed the cables to the users’ feet knees, rather than behind the panel. We had a central island with these back to back
  13. Mine went that way. Bought an official Apple refurb to replace it
  14. In our school, we insert the school address for such a student. This also identifies to the “seniors” that it is such a student. Real address is in secure paper records. We have always done this where some estranged parents are not to be given addresses, to prevent mistakes!
  15. If you end up needing to buy something, look at Parallels Access. I was surprised at functionality an low cost.
