Just finished Umbrella S3...

Really enjoyed it even though I read it wasn't as well received as other series.... The footloose opening set the tone and it had some great bits in the series.

I'm finding it more entertaining. Some of the backlash may be due to Elliot Page - I can imagine the usual suspects launching downvote campaigns.

Just finished The Book of Boba Fett, which should really have been called "Lonestar Wars: Boba Fett and The Mandalorian". The non-chronological timeline was a mistake, and I found all but the last couple of eps a bit ponderous. Still, Ming-Na Wen shows that there is life after 50 for ladies in Hollywood.

I have questions about the "never remove your mask" rule for Mandalorians, though. Won't they have manky, dirty, smelly heads/hair/mouths/teeth? How do they eat and drink? Those masks must suck for peripheral vision, too.

That's one bit of acting I noticed in the Mandalorian with Pedro sans helmet turning his head to put an item he was looking at to be in the center of his field of vision (being so used to looking through the visor!)

It's essentially never remove your mask where another can see you without it, not never remove it ever. So they'd be able to take it off in the privacy of their own space.

Since this is Sci-fi, we can assume these helmets come with the latest air conditioners and special clean-your-face-and-sonic-brush-your-teeth-whilst-you-war technology.

As for eating, we saw Mando do this in the first series episode, Sanctuary. He also explains about being able to remove the Helmet when alone.

I have come here to beg forgiveness.

Some time ago I dissed The Expanse..

How wrong I was. Some of the best proper hard sci-fi I have seen in many a long year

About to start the final series - boo hoo

I also love The Orville. Star Trek for the 21st Century.

TBH, I watched the first few eps and gave up. It was only the high praise here that got me to give it a go again and am really enjoying it now. Not sure about how quickly the missiles reached their target during that sequence, though!

Good then? I only had time for the first ep, which was great.

I seem to binge watch them then get a bit sad when watched the last one, same for Stranger Things etc. I'm a 80's fan anyway :-)

A lot more people come back from the past as it goes on but won't spoil it.

Yay - brilliant that you gave it another try. Superb series.

Anyone watching the long awaited second series of Blood & Treasure on P+?

It's one of our "undemanding fun" watches. Though some eps send us on a Google Hunt to see if certain locations etc actually exist.

For anyone who missed it 1st time round (or wants to watch it again), SKY are re-running Manifest. first episode screened last night.

Loved this. Need a new series though - is there going to be one?

How are you watching? Netflix have made a fourth and final season which starts in November and will be split into two parts.

I believe it will be 20 episodes too. (2 lots of 10 presumably).

Just finished Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Alright for when you don't want anything too taxing, but not a must watch and the final revelation is a bit of a let down. For those wondering if it managed to conclude properly (as it has been cancelled), the main story (presumably covering the book) is finished but there are potential sequel hooks set up.

Recently finished The Orville: New Horizons. Felt the extra running time led to saggy episodes and the cut back on the humour made it seem odd when there was a joky bit. Also Moon Knight, which didn't really do it for me.

Mme LeMarchand likes the odd bit of "cosy crime", so have started on My Life is Murder with Lucy Lawless and Harry Wild with Jane Seymour. Both seem OK, but unremarkable apart from their portrayal of women who are older than normally allowed to be "active" on TV as enjoying a bit of physicality.
