5Foot2 has just started the box set of 'The Flight Attendant' [sky]

 

She [5Foot2] finished her box set of 'The Flight Attendant' Apparently, while not 'essential' viewing, it was watchable and held the interest.

Any one else watching The Terror on BBC 2/iPlayer? Just finished it, was rather good if a little grim.

 

Yes, about half way through. enjoying it though.

Watched the first ep of "The Irregulars" on Netflix. Don't want to watch more, though Mme LeMarchand wants to give it one more go.

 

If bad acting, people behaving/speaking contemporary rather than period in an "historical" setting, poor continuity, jarring modern music and historical inaccuracies are your thing you might enjoy it, though.

That I could deal with, but I can't believe Netflix made something almost as bad as Asylum's 2010 Holmes effort. (Though Netflix obviously spent a lot more than Asylum!)

Finally finished season 5 of The Expanse last night.

 

Great stuff!

 

They had to make a few changes to the books in order to: a) Fire the chap who plays Alex and b) Do something about the 30-year time jump in the latter books considering they've a helluva lot of story to tell and only one more season.

It all felt natural though. Which was nice. Looking forward to the final installment now.

Grace [Catch up via ITV Hub]

 

About an hour through the first episode. Warming up nicely (except for one aspect of Grace's methods of investigation but as that could be a spoiler, I'll stop there)

 

John Simm as Roy Grace, two episodes, ITV.

 

I'm hoping they follow the books and that aspect gets dropped pretty sharpish. I can't decide if I really enjoyed it or really enjoyed location spotting as that is my old stomping ground.

Darn, I thought that looked quite interesting, though I did spot from the previews that the language would cause a bit of dissonance.

 

I did watch Season 3 of Paradise PD recently.

I have no idea why, as I wasn't particularly enthused by the first 2 seasons, given that 50% of the 'jokes' were just "oh boy, I'm so glad X didn't happen!" X immediately happens

... but I was pleasantly surprised. The writers actually seem to have learned what a joke is!

 

It's still the same low-brow offensive potty humour, so it won't be to everybody's tastes, but it's certainly better.

We have just finished the box set of 'Intruder' [Channel 5]

 

We watched the majority of the episodes via the catch-up/on demand feature on TV. However, episode 3 was a problem at about 15 minutes it stopped working, so I hooked the laptop up to the TV and watched it on My5.tv.

 

#NoSpoiler: The conclusion was unexpected!

Finished Falcon and the Winter Soldier (should we still call it that?) and generally enjoyed it. Not keen on Sharon Carter's story, as I find it hard to believe that no-one bothered to check up on her post-Snappening and I wonder if Anthony Mackie got in trouble for taking the lead in Netflix's Outside the Wire which had almost exactly the same core plot - I'm pretty sure it even used some of the same locations. At least F&tWS didn't totally ignore the fact that the "bad guys" had legitimate reasons for their struggle.

 

Started Shadow and Bone on Netflix. Only seen the first episode, which was generally good. Glad to see that its much-heralded "added ethnic diversity" wasn't limited to "we've got TWO different races; we're done". Biggest flaw was the casting of Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker. Not read the books with that character, but he seems to be a cold-hearted (probably with good qualities) criminal mastermind. Apologies to Mr Carter, who I've not seen in anything else so he might be great elsewhere, but he came across as a twelve year old playing at being tough. Maybe I'm getting old.

The preachy last episode of Falcon was awful, I imagine we are going to have to get used to this from now on.

 

Didn't mind the irregulars, seen worse.
