witch Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 The Walking Dead Getting a bit predictable -in last night's episode it was fairly easy to see what was going to happen - maybe not the specifics, but most of the action. Maybe it is because each episode centres on only a few members of the cast?
Patrick Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I have found with quite a lot of the previous TWD seasons that it tends to taper off in the middle of the season. Becomes a little dull as the writers build up to the big season ending, it just feels a bit drawn out. Last few episodes have been 'meh'.

Really thought provoking stuff, for the most part scary look at what's possibly to come, but especially "Men Against Fire" the social commentary on how propaganda and brainwashing are used in war etc. "San Junipero" was a "nicer", interesting look at what may happen in the future, and the moral consequences of mixing reality, VR, AI, afterlife etc together.

kennysarmy Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I think there are more facts to come out - she is clearly not telling the whole truth yet - there is something that she is ashamed of (or something) that will come out soon possibly connected to her recent 'liaisons' with several men - some of whom may or may not be strangers My latest theory is the taxi drivers son did it

I finally took the plunge and got into Emerald City... and very quickly binge watched my way up to date. Pretty good series. The actress who plays Dorothy in it reminds me very much of Meghan Markle. Started on a new series called Snatch this week. Reminiscent of the movie by the same name and a lot of well known actors in it. Only watched episode 1 so far but liking it a lot.

phreak Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Not on terrestrial Tv but on Crackle. Don't get me wrong. It is not as good as the original movie Snatch was... but that was a classic. But it is a bit of fun to watch. Definitely better than some of the shows out there these days.

CAWJames Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Have you seen the Ewan McGregor/Charlie Borman series, Long Way Around and Long Way Down, well worth a watch, even though they are a few years old now. Also if you are into mechanics, Mark Evans' numerous is born series are good, 4x4 is born, car is born, car is reborn, plane is born, helicopter is born, bike is born trilogy etc.

CAWJames Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Oh yes, they f'ed up big time, it was the preferred bike in the first series when they were testing, but they wouldn't do the deal and didn't realise just how much exposure they would have gotten which the BMW's ending up getting!
admars Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I don't know much about bikes, I hadn't heard of KTM, but I remember the missus and I being on holiday somewhere seeing a KTM dealership, and saying "oh look, that's the make of bike that didn't think they could go round the world" I'm sure there's more to it than that though. Meanwhile, missus and I have just finished Black Mirror season3. all brilliant, the last one "Hated in the Nation" a brilliant look at not just the horrible things ppl do, say write, which go round the internet, but the responses, some thoughtless, and the keyboard warrior mentality. Need to work out what to watch next, maybe Taboo, as I've got all that recorded to watch.

Garacesh Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) On Saturday night I started watching Black Mirror. The first episode, The National Anthem was perplexing, but ultimately felt empty. I guess it was a stab at humanities morbid curiosity, and how we can find pleasure in someone else's misery, but it felt a bit bland. I didn't really feel like it made much of an impact. The second episode, 15 Million Merits on the other hand.. Ouch. That hit home something fierce. I don't think I've ever watched anything that left me feeling so nihilistic and hollow. I've been watching Blindspot season 2 and they had a break from the middle of November until January and then they've taken another break since the 22nd of February until this coming Wednesday. It's so infuriating getting into a weekly show and then waiting over a month for the next one for no apparent reason. Surly it's just encouraging people to binge watch once the season has finished meaning the network lose out on the advertising revenue when it's shown on the telly.

You would think keeping it at the same day/time consistently would be better as people are more likely to remember and watch live and less likely to just let the pvr handle it and skip the ads

unixman_again Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Watching Mission Impossible on CBS Action - strangely in last Thursday nights episode, a line of dialogue has gone missing from the when it was last transmitted. Yep as well as being a Trekkie (original and cartoon series) I know almost every MI script by heart. Thursday, there is a random episode of The Man From UNCLE going out on True Entertainment. They've being showing two episodes if The Prisoner week nights and this single UNCLE episode is going out when The Prisoner runs out. It would be nice if they broadcast all of them.
