Started second series of this, and bored already. Have gone back to watching Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes for the third time! Gotta love a bit of Gene Genie and the end of a tiring day.

Really liking Paradise on D+. For a conspiracy/mystery show they've nailed the pacing so far.

Just finished Silo (Apple TV). Just started Extraordinary

 

Alas, poor Extraordinary (Disney). I was slightly surprised that it managed to get a second season but it isn't getting a third.

Watched the first 2 episode of Loudermilk on Netflix with OH last evening - great, both hooked.

Finally finished Kingdom on Netflix.

 

Watched most of the main part of the show over Xmas and completed the prequel movie Ashin of the North over the weekend,

 

In the Joseon period of Korean history, a young prince discovers a strange illness that is affecting villages in the country. The illness? Zombies!

 

Worth sticking with, as the first couple of episodes have a bit too much political manoeuvring, but from then to the end of the first season it's pedal to the metal leading to an incredible cliffhanger. Thank goodness I didn't have to wait to see how/if they'd get away. Season Two keeps things barrelling along, but feels a bit rushed as they needed to wrap things up before the Netflix axe fell, which they do fairly well.

 

The prequel movie is OK, but lacks the drive of the series.

 

Anyway: Show is highly recommended.

Just started watching Goliath on Prime.. first 2 episodes are great but reading up it says finish at series 1 as it goes off the rails a bit.

 

I'm up to season 3 of Blacklist but that's taking alot of time up to get to the end.. and I've heard its not the best ending.

We dropped Blacklist around the end of Season 6 it was tying itself in knots. It's not been deleted, but I can't imagine we'll go back to it.

A bit late to the party, but just finished the excellent Season 3 of The Expanse (just before Amazon take the first three seasons off).

 

Tried the show when it first came out, but couldn't get into it. I found the accents and odd haircuts jarring, as well and the seemingly unconnected "Private Eye" and "space" threads didn't mesh. It wasn't until the third go around, as everyone seemed to love it, that I got to episode three when the show found it's feet and, so far, has got better and better. If you're into SF, highly recommended.

Just watched the latest episode of Invincible. Not wanting to give anything away, I’ll just say that this is the episode that deals with PowerPlex.

 

Oof, that was not an easy episode to watch. Not to say it was bad, by any means, just upsetting. I knew what was coming because I’ve read the books but seeing it brought to life like that… yeah.

 

The plots where Mark was dealing with the consequences of his past with his dad were powerful too. Excellent writing all round so far this season and an excellent performance from Aaron Paul as well.

Well Reacher S3 is here which is pretty good. Glad its gone back to just him rather than season 2's team.

 

Me and the wife needed some light relief and are really enjoying Almas's not alright on iPlayer

Oh and I am grinding my way through Zero Day on Netflix. De Niro is brilliant but it's a slow burner and ridiculous.

The Recruit I found as a great antidote to The Night Agent.

Had similar feelings to S1 of The Night Agent, I made it through but there is just something not right about the filming, acting or staging. Not bothering with S2

 

The Recruit on the other hand has just enough silliness to keep it light, but enough action to keep engaged. Don't expect hard hitting CIA reality, but I like its mix and you can almost see working at the CIA being like this!

Watched the first ep last week. I'd recommend that anyone who gives it a go sticks with it to the end of the first episode... for reasons.

 

Would have watched more, but Reacher S3 has started. From the first 2 eps, much more fun than the second season.

 

Also watched the first 2 eps of Night Agent S2. Enjoyed S1, but struggling with S2.

Now as Edugeek's resident Wheel of Time superfan, I feel duty bound to bring it into this thread and suggest that EVERYONE watch it.

Season three released yesterday with an intital 3 epiosdes and it is magnificent!

My soon to be 16 year old is a massive reader of this sort of fantasy story. I might sit down with him and give it a try. Certainly if he likes, the book series might help out the wider family with birthday/Xmas presents. It also looks well suited to a game version - is there such a thing or plans on that direction?

Well that'll keep him going for a while ��. There is a WoT game that came out back in '99, but I've not heard of anything more recent.

As well as the old computer game (https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_wheel_of_time) there's an early access card game (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2940620/Cards_of_Eternity_The_Wheel_of_Time/) and a fan-made board game (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2824794834). I think there was a D&D book and there was definitely a full tabletop RPG that seems to be commanding high prices these days as it's OOP.

There's a whole licensing mess with merch and spin off stuff so not sure about future prospects. But a game could certainly be effective if a studio took time to understand the property.

Yeah modern life is goodish sadly. I saw the first episode of wheel of time a week early, but had to watch the rest with everyone else. My little youtube channel doesn't have the sway that Unravelling the Pattern and WotSeries have - they both got all eight episodes as screeners to watch before they reviewed.

Just finished Fall of the House of Usher. A great ghost story and well told based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe.

Carla Gugino stole the show for me as Verna. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it yet, but it's well worth your time if you haven't.

I have currently been rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

 

Just finished Season 6, but forgot how hard hitting the Season 5 episode of "The Body" is, as soon as Willow starts having her breakdown, I turn into a blubbering mess
