  1. Might be worth looking at Entra cloud sync rather than Entra connect, as that is the way Microsoft are "pushing" it. Also possible to sync AD > Entra > Google with out 3rd party integrations. Provisions the user to their correct Google OU as well. I have done it at a few schools, but not sure how "supported" it is. It doesn't sync passwords, but if you are using Entra as SSO for Google, that should not be a problem. If of interest, I will see if I can dig out the guides I used to do it.
  2. Nope, and I am still waiting and hoping that someone here has!
  3. We're moving away from the RDS with MFA set up. MFA flow is so slow when it does work. We're moving to Palo Alto's Global Protect VPN, using M365 to authenticate so user's still use MFA.
  4. We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, flexible and willing to carry out the wide range of duties that are likely to be required to make a success of this role. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Junior IT Technician will provide technical support for the school's IT systems, ensuring the smooth operation of technology services. This role will involve troubleshooting IT issues and supporting both staff and students. We are a school that values diversity and individual contribution, supporting and encouraging both students and staff to pursue their interests and achieve their ambitions. https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/junior-it-technician-hammersmith-and-fulham-2202228
  5. What about SOCS calendar? https://socs.tech/
  6. Hi! Yep, we did a full roll out at my old place. I left before I had a chance to support the roll out, so @PGridley may need to chime in at this point. But the setup was super easy with them, they were really on it, but not overly push with it. They came to loads of open events to chat to parents about the scheme and what it meant. Portal is simple to use, laptops came delivered all asset tagged, enrolled into our MDM and assigned to the relevant pupil. It took a lot of stress out of it for us. Happy to answer any other specifics.
  7. What's the quote about those with a little bit of knowledge.
  8. Thanks all. We're all good now. Just need to work out how to kill Safari using Intune. Giving me the run around a bit...
  9. Bumping this to see if anyone has any ideas on how to achieve this on Intune.
  10. Just spoken to some of your colleagues and looks like we are going to go with setting the Smoothwall as the DG in our DHCP scopes.
  11. Oh, well the bridged VM suggestion came from Smoothwall. How else would we do this on a VM?
  12. Started second series of this, and bored already. Have gone back to watching Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes for the third time! Gotta love a bit of Gene Genie and the end of a tiring day.
  13. Or not... Set the policy exactly the same as above, but no dice. We are using Jamf cloud as well.
  14. Thanks, to clarify, not running it as a firewall, just the web filter for BYOD and Guest devices. All managed devices will use cloud filter. Would it be promiscuous mode on both port groups, or just the one the VM is actually in?
  15. Hi all Anyone have the Smoothwall appliane as a VM on VMware? Smoothwall have recommended installing in bridge mode, but I am getting tied up in knots for what port groups I need to use and whether I should use permiscuous mode. Gateway is up on just a single basic interface, and can ping internal/external, but as soon I change it in to bridge mode, nada, kaput, can't do nowt! Cheers James
  16. Hi Pete **waves gormlessly**
  17. Yep, sounds about right...
  18. Thanks both. Looks like that has done the trick for Jamf. Now need to see how we can do it in Intune...
  19. Hi all We are about to start deploying Smoothwall Cloud Filter and need to hide/remove/kill Safari on MacBooks, as per Smoothwall's suggestions. I can't seem to work out how to do this on Intune/JAMF so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers James
  20. Have used Lightspeed at my previous school, I quite liked it actually. Worked well once it was set up correctly (that's the bit that takes some time). We have Securly where I am now, and we are looking at moving away from it to Smoothwall.
  21. Good point. I think I have previously just deleted from Intune, but now I am doubting myself as I haven't used Intune for a few months, although will be starting again at my new place.
  22. I've never had to go as far back as reimporting the hardware hash. But yes, having to remove from many locations is a massive PITA. It would just be nice if the error given was a bit more helpful as well.
  23. Tell the Ops Director to open up the purse strings, as it will cost a fortune! I don't believe there are any education discounts for AI product...yet.
  24. Sorry to re-raise this thread, but did anyone have any luck with this? Specifically with extensionAttributes.
