  1. Anyone have any recent expertise with the new Azure AD Sync (Beta) functionality on Google? I’ve setup the sync between Google and Azure AD, all working as expected. What I’m not able to get working is the part that should read an attribute from AD and match that to an OU named the same on Google so as to keep users tidy in various OUs. As an example I have an OU on Google called Students, it lives under the root domain name OU. I’ve tried setting in AD on a user the following attributes: Department and/or ExtensionAttribute1 and have set both these to be Student however when I do a sync (with either attribute set in Google) it says skipping user as a matching OU name cannot be found in the attribute (does correctly list the attribute name in the log) Not sure what I’m missing, any experts set this up recently and can offer any words of wisdom?
  2. The Head is after some kind of early warning system for an Ofsted inspection, can anyone recommend a Wordpress plugin that is able to send out emails to specified recipients when a page (or specified pages) have had a certain amount of hits or when pages are accessed by certain IP addresses. I know no system will truly work but would like to give it a go. Any suggestions warmly welcome. Thanks!
  3. Hi all I’ve worked at a school for 15 years and have been Network Manager for the last 10 years, I’m fully self taught but am now thinking that should i wish to leave and take a step up i should probably have some sort of officially recognised qualifications. Could anyone recommend a starting point of what kind of course I should look into and then perhaps where to go after that? Many thanks!
  4. Spoke to them about this on Friday, apparently our main subnet was not set up for this fallback but is now so fingers crossed this should help out!
  5. Hi all Anyone else on Schools Broadband and using their Netsweeper filtering provision? We’re finding flaky performance for users at random where after login users are unable to browse the internet for sometimes up to a few minutes after login but occasionally not at all, the web browser gives a Netsweeper error or says ‘connect to network’ It’s as if the Netsweeper appliance on Schools Broadband side isn’t able to associate users quick enough and allow them access in good time. I do have a ticket open with Schools Broadband and they are investigating. Just wondering if it’s just us or if this might be affecting others out there?
  6. Can anyone recommend a room booking system that synchronises with Bromcom (that isn’t the built in room booking system included with Bromcom)? Thanks!
  7. We got 13 of these and have to say they are decent, my favourite along with the Toshiba Dynabooks we got. The Geobooks were garbage and the Dell Inspirons were so so.
  8. Hi FN-GM, checked and the certificate in use on both Google and our end is valid until 18/02/2019
  9. Hi all We are having trouble with our SSO to Google Apps for Education (particularly YouTube) via ADFS. Used to work fine and nothing changed our end as far as I can tell. All we get now is 'an error occurred' (see below) on the browser page after being sent to our ADFS login page. We've followed the guide on this site (seems to be the definitive guide out there) https://icutsman.wordpress.com/2016/08/06/googleappsandadfs/ but to no avail. ADFS is working as Office365 uses it quite happily. Anyone else had any issues similar, could you suggest anything we could try? An error occurred An error occurred. 10. We think a recent change to Windows 10 has stopped our Windows 10 laptops from connecting automatically to our Ruckus system... Some context: We have had for a number of years been using RADIUS from one of our DCs and a WiFi network called Restricted on our Ruckus wireless system and an inline filtering appliance. Laptops that are in a particular security group are allowed to join this WiFi network automatically and it works, it works without issue on Windows 7 clients and was working with Windows 10 clients too until recently. Now Windows 10 clients wont connect automatically to the WiFi upon boot causing them to not process group policy and they sit on the 'Applying Settings' message for a long time before giving up. It seems to be that Windows 10 now checks if there is an Internet connection before it will auto join the WiFi network and where we use an inline filtering appliance, machines do not get the Internet until a user logs on and is authenticated. I've tried allowing msftconnecttest.com via the filter to all machines in the hope that in the background the machine would check if this is available and allow the connection to the WiFi network but this does not seem to have fixed it. Has anyone else had experience of this in a similar set up to us? any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks.
  11. I am looking for the answer to this question also... anyone have any idea? Thanks
  12. We've just had our renewal and it was something like the £620, no mention of the higher cost option...
  13. Ok we fixed it Turns out we had to allow our users to be able to log on locally to the server where HAP + is installed and we did this by modifying the group policy that was preventing users doing so. Would have been handy if this was in the documentation as something to look out for. Thanks
  14. We've checked and checked again, it seems to be ignoring the staff and student permissions and only working for domain admins, where else could we look? With a test user (15test) we've added to AD the setting under profile -> Home Folder -> Connect: O: \\Datacentre\Student Redirection\15\15Test (this works fine when the user logs in to Windows and gets an O drive as expected. In Hap + We've created the drive map to: Drive: O, Name: My Files, UNC: %homedir%, Enable Read To: All, Enable Write To: All, Usage Mode: Drive Space (and tried with Quota and None) 15 test can access HAP + just fine but when accessing the My Files section they don't get their mapped drive, just receiving the 'something is wrong' message three times in the top left of the page. Same for just regular drive maps, putting in the UNC path and giving permission to our staff group, they cant access it in My Files, but logging in as a Domain Admin access to the share works perfectly. There must be something we are missing or a permission somewhere which needs looking at...
