We're hoping to get our staff and maybe sixth formers on to MFA sooner rather than later, we've already got it set up for our MIS so hopefully it won't go down to badly. As others, we're going to put our location as a trusted network, just need to get it working for RDS, although we're moving over to Azure's WVD over the summer.

Defender and LastPass

We use for staff emails and just for display name. Pupils are for their email and , for display name. This has just gone out from our Deputy Head in an email, so you can see how well that is going. Wait – wait a minute before sending an e-mail, to give you time to check Check – double check all the recipients to make sure it is going to the correct person. Staff should have a photo, so it's easy to check, and students' emails are in CAPITALS Send – once you have waited, double checked, and are happy that it is going to the correct person, you can send

That's my understanding of it. Most ISP IPs are dynamic though, whether it was just (mis)fortune that meant that IP for one friend then moved to the others...? Most of the time though, best to go with your initial thought.

Finally got all our Teams out, only 2500 of them! Need to get it reduced out to Class Teams somehow. I know they have an edu_CLASS template but can't see how to use it for Get-Teams...

Cripes! We've got a lot more class teams than that. Even more if it is pulling out ALL teams...! Wonder if it's possible to modify the scrip to only pull out Teams of a certain type...?

Not wanting to teach you how to suck eggs. However, have you double check you've put the URL to your SharePoint site in correctly? Double checked the user you're using for the SharePoint connector has access to SharePoint/SharePoint site? Added that user in as an owner to the site?

When you go to your new SharePoint site, click on the settings cog and then click on Site Contents. Do you see a load of new lists? I'm having trouble running the PowerShell script to export the Teams. As in, I started it at about midday and it hasn't completed...

I felt the same way too. It's taking me the best part of 2 years to come to terms with it!

Yes, true. But combined with Autopilot, makes it easier to set up and deliver to the user. Also it's just a button to reset the device rather than the rigmarole of a rebuild etc. Getting to grips with no OUs has been fun but using dynamic groups with regex gets round that a bit. Where we have devices that are shared, because staff and pupils roam, you would want more granular control to stop someone breaking something that effects someone else. Where the devices going into Intune are mostly laptops, therefore one-to-one, quite frankly, if someone wants to mess around with something on their device, the only person they're going to effect is themselves, so it's their own damn problem.

Intune also. Once I can figure out how to activate a Windows 10 device (I seem to be the only person in the entire world that can't) We'll be moving over to it!

I've not used it, but I've never heard good things about it. Hence I've never used it.

We've just replaced our phone system and were considering the same thing, Teams vs 3CX. 3CX won hands down. Teams was just far to expensive, we worked out it would cost £20,000 a year just for the licensing, so no call plans, no hardware. You can add common area phones which don't need a licence but even taking them in to consideration, it was to costly. 3CX is better value, so simple to use, even for the biggest technophobes. It's really flexible in what it can do for call routing and whilst you do have to pay £75.00 a support ticket for 3CX, you can find most of the answers on their community website.

I use it for my IT team. For posting articles, general chit chat, we host all our files in documents area and all our documentation is in the collaboration space in OneNote. As members of the Team get their own section in OneNote that only they and the owners can see, I use it for when I do appraisals and one-on-ones to keep track. It has been a really useful tool since lock down.

Our own internal one but will be moving to Microsoft 365 SharePoint soon.
