Hi guys and gals, Has anyone successfully managed to deploy mapped network drives/enabled UNC paths using Intune? The closest I have come is to deploy a PowerShell script however it doesn't appear to work. I can enable the UNC path when I run the command below locally on the device, but I'm not seeing the same result with the Intune PowerShell script. Intune is telling me that the script was deployed successfully to the device but I've not seen any evidence to support that. net use \\\ password /user:domain\user /persistent:yes Any tips would be awesome! Thanks! Best wishes, A

Hi everyone, I'm looking to roll out Intune across the school I work in and remove the onsite AD. I'm looking into what policies we should be applying at both a user and device level, should we just be applying the same as we have been doing using AD or do people have a tick list that they use when creating new tenants? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello all, I've just got access to InTune but I have fallen at the first hurdle and can't do anything. I naively thought there would be an msi or exe I could run on a computer and after a moment, it would appear as a device however this does not appear to be the case. I've tried "signing on with a school account" but I get met with random error messages. I've been stuck staring at random Microsoft articles and am not sure if I should concentrate on the error message, install the AD connector for InTune or do something completely different. I've not even looked at autopilot yet until I can get at least something going. Bit disheartened by the whole thing as I was eager to get going. Really I'd be chuffed to bits if I could just get a device attached so I can start testing settings. Just looking for a direction to get started really (or just a pointer on how to get a device to show up). Thanks all [Edit: I should say I'm using the Endpoint Intune. I'm licenced for Education but only interested in the full product as I'm interested in the security and software management of remote clients]

Hey folks! I have a support ticket open with Microsoft and after a 2 hour call still no answer. Expecting another call back today however I would like to try and avoid another long drawn out conversation. We started the trial for InTune for Education last week however, it doesn't appear as if the portal works for us. The InTune portal appears to work (Although, never used InTune so not sure where to start with it) Whenever I go to the portal - Or any page of the portal I get permission denied errors. I am a global admin on O365 and I checked i'm also a global admin for InTune. Is there another super secret layer of permissions I am missing Thanks!

Hello all, So I'm facing a brick-wall here, and I'm hope someone can provide some insight or advice to get past this issue(s). I work for an organization (education, higher-ed) where I was tasked to assist in the implementation of Intune within our environment as our main MDM. So far we were able to have the iOS/iPad portion configured to the way we want however for Windows-based devices is where we're facing issues where only a select few devices are populating (about 180 devices) however we have more being shown and active in Entra ID. We notice this issue more prominent for lab devices and devices that have been already present in our AD before Intune existed; however some older devices do eventually show up. We're a hybrid environment so we have: -an active hybrid join connector for Intune -we have a GPO running, 'Enable automatic MDM enrollment using Microsoft Entra credentials'. -MDM Scope set to all within Intune -Under Microsoft Entra Join and registration, users may join devices to Microsoft Entra scope is set to all I feel like we could be missing something but I'm not sure what exactly. Has anyone ran into a similar situation or if anyone has advice on what to look into to resolve this? Thank you in advance

Hi all, we have (last year) been provisioning lots of devices using USB sticks and School PC app. We have a user we use in the wizard setup, attach to wifi, set a name and whether its shared or not. It worked fine. We have two W10 laptops now, we have tried to do the same, but they error out. error 0x80070005 provisioning failure We also get a fail on the sway app and onedrive: Setup completes with errors. Microsoft.microsoftskydrive_8wekyb3d8bbwe Failed microsoft.office.sway_8wekyb3d8bbwe Failed I am really confused, we have tried another user in the setup, tried not ticking anything, removing the device from Intune, no luck. We have a big batch of devices coming in soon. Any ideas??! The only recent change is we have moved to A3, but the user we use to enrol has had the previous license applied and tried all sorts of others (A1 plus, A3, A1).

I am currently running the time limited, evaluation of InTune and am considering my licensing alternatives after it ends. I have approximately 30 devices which are all Windows 10 Education based devices. My question is about which is the optimal license model for me to maximise functionality against spend. I am specifically looking at managing devices at this stage and NOT application management. It appears that there are a couple of options: Buy Intune device licences for the number of devices in the project and purchase more as needed Or Buy Microsoft Intune for Education for Faculty licence If I take the second, how many devices could be enrolled against each licence? I’ve heard mixed feedback varying from between 5 and 40. I suppose the premise being that a faculty license provides the ability and rights to manage an arbitrary quantity of student devices and if this is the case then it would make more sense to take this route as it offers better value as long as device licenses were not needed by virtue of them being managed by using a Faculty license. On the whole, it’s not clear which is the better route to take so I appreciate any advice you can provide. Thanks.

Hi All I am looking for advice. I have 2 schools that share the same building and have 1 shared IT suite with 1 server between them. At present I use AD and NTFS to separate files and folders so each school can only see their own stuff, however each school wish to purchase a Microsoft 365 tenant northumberland.school1.org.uk and cumbria.school2.org.uk. my issues is they use the same pc's so how do i hook them up to two different tenants. i wondered if they could be hybrid networks with newcastle.org.uk as the top level domain and northumberland.school1.newcastle.org.uk as sub domain and cumbria.school2.newcastle.org.uk as subdomain2, my problem with this is i don't know if they could login with [email protected] or would it have to be [email protected]. the PC's would be joined to the newcastle.org.uk domain and pick up group policy from that. or is there a better option maybe without hybrid domains. anyone any ideas please. i have been given 5 days to configure everything from when we start and they would like to start Friday I want to leave it a while. thanks ian

Hi, Has anyone successfully deployed Clevertouch resources via InTune? No problem with the recorder or the Lynx 6 app, but I can not get the resources to deploy. Thanks in advance.

Anyone had any experience with deploying Company Portal via Device and not user? Using intune and autopilot and would like Company Portal to install for all users quickly. Currently to process seems to take a while before installing for a logged in user.

Hi guys We are planning to gradually adopt Intune and I have a question on bulk enrollment of devices, hoping to find out what others have done We are not at a stage yet for devices to be purely cloud joined. For the moment, devices will exist in Active Directory and Entra so will be Hybrid-Joined. Devices are built and domain joined using MDT. I have tested device enrollment into Intune using a Device Enrollment Manager + GPO. Below would be the workflow to enroll a device into Intune: Pre-stage computer account in AD and it then sync to Entra using the AAD connect tool. Add object to any security groups for Intune application installs. Build device using MDT. Confirm build is successful & reboot. Device will register in the Entra portal in due course. Once device is registered, log in using the Device Enrollment Manager account. Device enrolls into Intune. Monitor enrollment within Intune portal and configuration profiles/apps will soon deploy from Intune. We are wanting to bulk enroll hundreds of devices into Intune and so far the use of a DEM account is the only way I can see it working. I've thought that the process could be sped up by utilizing Impero to log on as the DEM account for clasrooms of 30+ devices. Hoping to see what others have done regarding bulk enrollment , unfortunately we don't have SCCM so unable to use co-management. Many thanks!

We've recently added InTune to our licensing. At present we have AD/GPO for our Windows machines, Mosyle Free for our iPads and Google Workspace for our Chromebooks. I'd rather, at least in the short term, keep this - mainly because I can understand it. However, I'm considering converting laptops that won't run W11 to ChromeOS Flex. Is it possible to use InTune for these ONLY and also does this obviate the need for the Google £25 license?

Hi all, Got a bunch of GeoBooks from the DfE last year that I now want to InTune into our schools enrolment. However, I can't seem to get it to boot to USB image? I've tried secure boot on/off. Legacy mode. Setting boot order manually. Booting into boot options. Holding shift and restart within Windows 10 to manually select USB from boot options. However, it either keeps looping to the BIOS or just continues to boot the current Windows 10 image. Has anyone had any joy with these things? TIA!

Hi Guys, Trying to make an educational iOS configuration profile in in an effort to start using the classroom functionality on iPads but the option seems to be missing from the drop down... Any ideas? Has the feature been removed or something?

Hey Guy, Does anyone else using Intune (Hybrid or otherwise) have an issue joining a device? We seem to get as far as installing the enrolment profile but it seems to have on "Getting your device managed" and the fails with "Couldn't add you device" with no real error or log (that I can find) to help resolve. I have contacted MS Intune support but are not very helpful or swift in their responses =(

Hi guys, Just curious if anyone has had a positive experience with deploying SIMS into an Intune environment? Posting on behalf of a a friend who is struggling to deploy SIMS using Intune, as Solus is very reliant on AD (on-prem). All of the new devices that are rolled out are AAD joined, no longer linked to on-prem AD, so getting SIMS out to the devices has been a painful experience. Have any of you had similar issues or could perhaps point us in the right direction of an effective way to get SIMS out to these new devices? Grateful for any help! Best wishes, A
