Snowpiercer looks kind of cool so far - really like the transition from animation to live action at the start.

Has anyone tried Space Force on Netflix?

I've watched the first 3 episodes of Space Force, but am really disappointed in it so far - not living up to its potential IMO.

Finished the first seasons of Mythic Quest (steadily improved as you got to know the characters), Locke and Key (not as fun as the comics, but entertaining - watch out for a cameo by writer Joe Hill and, I'm assuming, artist Gabriel Rodriguez in the final episode) and Into the Night (started to flag slightly towards the end, and I'm at a loss to see how a second season could maintain the pace, but well worth a look). Anybody watched the Salisbury Poisonings on iPlayer?

Shocking, and fascinating having been so close (I stayed in the college on the edge of the cathedral grounds) at the Edugeek event last year. So close to the school!

We will watch it.

We are currently working through 'Green Wing' and 'Waco'

Hello this is a reminder that What We Do In The Shadows is absolutely superb, all on BBC iPlayer, and so far Season 2 seems even better than Season 1. Go get you some.

We are also watching the Salisbury Poisonings

Great telly - I was at Edit as well - amazing to have been to the place it all happened - and to remember the posts on here from people in the area at the time

Space Force - 8/10

I'm surprised I like this because I usually hate comedies like The Office. I really enjoyed it!

The Last Dance - 9/10

An excellent 10-part documentary based on Michael Jordan and The Chicago Bulls in that famous period.

The Trip to Spain and The Trip to Greece

Like the other parts to this series, I've enjoyed it since it moved to Sky.

NCIS

Caught up with previous series that I'd let pile up over the past couple of years. Still enjoy it because I'm so invested in it.

NCIS: Los Angeles

Like with NCIS, I'm too invested to give up!

Watched the first ep of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. A bit slow, but much better than I was expecting. Still don't like the Penny Dreadful prefix, though, as this has little in common beyond the creator/writer and a star. Surely a 30s set/US based "Penny Dreadful" would be a Philip José Farmer-esque mashup of people like Nero Wolfe, Doc Savage, Perry Mason, Nick and Nora Charles etc? I guess various lawyers might have objections to that, though!

First episode of Perry Mason, very dark, more book like but predating them I think. Enjoyed very much, annoyed I have to (shock, horror)wait for E2!

Finally gave in, the other half and I gave Snowpiercer a go at the weekend, we are 4 episodes in, and we are enjoying it. More questions that answers, mind you..so far. But yes definitely enjoyed it

I watched a lot of the BBC Virtual Glastonbury over the weekend.

Some truly superb content that's almost worth the License Fee on it's own.

Particularly superb was the full David Bowie headline set from 2000. It's absolutely magnificent.

The Foo Fighters headline set is also amazing and shows just why they're one of the greatest live bands of all time.

Lovely stuff :)

Last night we finished the truly excellent Mrs America. The whole series is available on the iPlayer.

It tells the story of the fight in the US to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in the seventies and one woman's fight to stop it from happening.

A truly exceptional cast, some inspired writing and clever use of period footage make this a compelling show.

Very highly recommended!

Finally got round to watching Das Boot

Not sure - great film in many ways

very annoying in other ways

like a U-boat surfacing in a hostile area and loads of people going up to the bridge (?? - if s that the right word on a sub?) and all looking in one direction at the same time

no-one thought to immediately scan the whole horizon

and loads more people on the bridge than needed - with no-one specifically there on lookout

Dark - Netflix

I didn't know about this until someone mentioned it to me and why didn't I know about it sooner?! It's entirely German, with German actors, set in a small fictional German town. It won an Emmy and is a highly recommended Sci-Fi thriller involving a time travel conspiracy spanning multiple generations and destiny/fate. I'm really, really enjoying it and I have three episodes of season 3 remaining. I might smash through that this evening. It can be hard to follow the threads of all the characters, especially following past and future characters. Season 3 takes this to a whole new level and it's taking me some effort to track it all!

By default Netflix enables English dubbing - but I highly recommend to turn the audio back to the original German language and use subtitles. The English dubbing is horrendous and you lose all verbal emotion. Using the German audio you get a much better and more believable experience. I cannot stress this enough.
