Just watched the first 2 episodes of Stargate Origins.

The idea is that the gate was actually opened between them unearthing it and SG:1 by..... *drumroll please* you guessed it... Nazis!

The episodes are only 10 minutes long but so far it seems ok. I have always loved the Stargate series so will probably continue to watch it.

I'd totally forgotten this was due to come out, time to get watching! And I'm really glad they're keeping with the SG-1 universe and not taking the lead from hollywood and planning a movie-style reboot!

But wouldn't there be a big ol' pit of empty space (or a crater topside) since the initial 'burst' from the gate disintegrates everything in its path?

You would think so. Unless it got buried in a different location after this series.

I'll be intrigued to see Ra again, unless they accidentally dial a different planet.

Caught up on the first 3 Stargate Origins. Starts off well and goes downhill once they stop using footage from the beginning of the film. The acting is poor, as is the dialogue, and the low budget is evident (though the CG sets don't look as bad as I'd feared). I'm also not sure how this can fit in with the existing canon unless there's a "memory wipe" coming up. OTH: new Stargate!

It had me when they used the original theme music!

I hate the 10 minute episode format though. Two 50-minute episodes would've been, much better.

On the plus side. It's made both @ZeroHour & Myself start SG-1 from the beginning again. :D

Yes, quite enjoyed the 3 so far, 2 more tonight I believe when I get in. Music took me right back too, think I may rewatch SG1 again myself, my brother has a behemoth of a DVD tower with them ALL or are they on t'web somewhere?

Well technically...

Depends how legal you wanna be :p

(Disclaimer: Humour, not promoting piracy)

I wish they were on Netflix or Prime Video (at least the last time I checked, which was something like 6 months ago, they weren't)

I'd binge the hell out of SG1 if I could stream it.

Recently realised I hadn't checked the newer (Alexander Armstrong voiced) series of DangerMouse - so I've been catching up with that.

Thanks for that, theme tune now firmly embedded in my head! Power of suggestion. It was either going to be one of the Modern Air-men or Archie the Inventor I suppose

My son loves that.. and I have been loving the modern references. Such as the episode where all the world leaders were kidnapped (showing a small owl arguing with a big orange pig ) made me laugh out loud.

On another note Ash vs The Evil dead has returned. All hail the king baby!

While part of me thought there was no way that they could keep that gorefest going and still keep it fresh I still had a few moments of "Ok, wow, that's a new way to kill a deadite".

I watched up to episode 5 of Stargate Origins. And I can kind of see what peoples gripes are with it... but I think part of me is just so longing for that Stargate feeling I allowed myself to get sucked up into it. So much so that I didn't mind them using the original shots, or when the acting was less that perfect.

But I think all in all, its Stargate... and I will continue to watch it. I will however build up the episodes as 3 episodes back to back feels a little more satisfying that 1 or 2 at time.

Almost finished Altered Carbon. I've got 2 episodes left and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the Sci-Fi genre.

Everybody who I have recommended this to loves it. I think in fact I am going to go back and re-watch it, as I am sure there were bits of it that I missed the first time round.

Watched "The Alienist" Ep 1 last night, interesting, gory and to the point but interesting all the same, will be trying another.

I found it interesting, but a bit dull. Plan on watching at least one more.

I did watch Gifted episode 2 and found it as dumb as the first one. May give it one more, as I normally like X Men stuff.

Counterpart was a lot better than I was expecting, though. Only seen the first ep, but it left me wanting to see more. So far a bit like The Cold War meets Fringe.

Watched the first 2 eps of ITV's "comedy" Action Team. It looked like all the money went on making it look expensive and not on the writing. I'm ashamed to admit that I did laugh at times, though.
