What should be in a Stationery Cupboard

Currently sorting our stationary order and im interested in find out what others think should be in an IT dept's stationery cupboard

DVD Spindle

CD Spindle

Tape for our Label printer

Ink for our Epson R3000

 

What other IT Essentials have I missed off?

Usually at primary schools:

 

-Old books

-Broken things

-actual stationery

 

Then it is usually piled all on top of a server, because they don't tend to have dedicated space for them, or if it were ever in its own cupboard, no doubt someone would come along and pile crap on it.

Chinagraph pencil. I tend to write what fault there is with the hardware on it's lid/case when students come and dump their laptop or whatever on my desk. Saves repeating diagnostics when you've got 5 or 10 identical laptops sitting in your office all with faults.

How about an actual toolkit? Screwdrivers, allen keys, weird-and-wonderful screwdriver heads like 6-pointed stars with holes in the centre or 3-prong 'posi' heads, pliers/snips.

Cabling equipment like an ethernet tester, crimp, blank RJ45's

Compressed air.

That would soooo go in our tool kit, but not sure the boss would swing for it. Although it would come in very handy for the amount of taping we do.

I used to as well, until I realised that Asda own-brand Post Its don't actually stick and end up on the bottom of my shoe within milliseconds of being applied- followed by being trodden around the school for the rest of the day and ending up in the footwell of my car for me to find weeks later.

What's in our stationary cupboard? Me. @tekins. Cabinet with servers & core switches. Desks. Printer. Worktop.

 

People seem to come to us more these days for staplers, hole punches and paper than they do for IT related issues so it's definitely a stationary cupboard

Stationery**** Cupboard? How large is your budget??

 

We have a drawer with some pens, staplers (but no staples), highlighter (singular), paperclips and cheapo post-it notes. We do have CDs/DVDs but they don't fit in the drawer
